Important campaign news you want to know

Jesse Ventura is definitely not running.

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura has officially ruled out running for president.

Ventura, who was governor from 1999 to 2003 as a member of the Reform Party, had earlier speculated that he might seek the endorsement of the Libertarian Party this year.

“I am stating unequivocally that I am not running for president,” the former professional wrestler posted on his website days before the Libertarian convention.

Ventura said he’d “love” to debate Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump

“[B]ut, just in case I would win, I don’t want to do the job,” Ventura wrote. “And if you don’t want to do the job, you have no business running for president. That’s how I feel.”

The Libertarian Party nominated former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson as its presidential candidate at its convention this weekend.

“I will most probably give my support to Gov. Gary Johnson if he secures the Libertarian nomination,” Ventura wrote Thursday.

I'm really disappointed.  There is a lot of buzz that a third party candidate, other than the Libertarian Party might run - some entrenched GOP mainstream candidate.  Johnson has about 10% in polls and seems to be taking equally from Hillary and Trump.  Could this election cycle get any weirder? Having third parties running most all the time here is how we got both Ventura and Pawlenty for governor. Experience teaches me the 34% winner is not such a good thing.

(I was kind of hoping someone would thank me for the public service ...)

Thank you.

How could you leave out Jill? You want to get in trouble with the PC police?

Jill ... Jill ... kosh - are you talking to me? Who's Jill? Am I in very big trouble?

Oh, JILLLL. That Jill. Slipped my mind. (Honest to god, stared and stared at the word and could not for the life of me place it ... though I thought maybe I should be able to. Old age. So sad.)  Will she even be on all ballots - in all states?
