i want to know when my friends have New Posts. it's only sort of working. i want my friends & others to tell me when they have new posts!

i want to receive notices when people i care about post something new. this is happening a little bit but not enough.

i found the Follow button but it seems to do that for only that one post. i want to follow all of that person's recent posts.

if i can't work this out, i would be grateful for anyone who wants me to read their writing to please let me know when they have posted something new. i'm so far behind because i'm confused and because the Main Page is confusing to me. as is every technical thing in the Western World. :)

I see you already found my latest post... and in answer to your question: I have only one photograph of me from a play.  It's a publicity shot from 1969, I was only 20 years old and you can find it on my post 1969-Opening Night...  I'm the first male from the right with the mustache.  I'll send you a PM when I post.

Well, what do you know.  Thanks to your question, Theodora, I have found more good things to read.

There are two places to find a Follow button. They look identical. You've got the wrong one, which is why you kept getting notified any time someone commented on one of my old posts.

Go to the person's home page. You'll see, below their avatar, a link that says New Posts. Go there. Go to the bottom of That page and find the Follow button. Hit that one. That one will trigger an email whenever that blogger posts. The one inside the post itself will tell you whenever someone comments on that individual post.

Thanks, kosh - had no idea that 'follow' button existed.

I just keep cursing the other 'follow' button as I wake up to floods of emails in the morning because I don't remember to 'unfollow' every comment on a post I commented on.....

*waving hi, Theodora*

thank you so much, guys. especially you, kosher! i'm so happy to have the Real way to do this. it's going to make a big difference. and Hi, Anna! and Julie. very cool that you found good things to read.

i was hoping that some people would read my post about recovering, slowly, from the Great Urine Incident. i was really reaching out for some support. it was hard for me. i was scared. it was a PTSD thing which i know that many people on here know all about. i might re-post and ask for support. i enjoy doing that for other people. and i know there are so many caring people on here. maybe my other posts bumped it off the main page. another reason to Follow people the right Way and to Message people i know and like when i do have something new that is either entertaining or maybe moving or maybe just fun.

I have a new post. I find the format of this platform confusing too...looking for a follow button...I can't even always find my page!

Comment by Julie Johnson on June 4, 2015 at 8:15pm

I never have hooked up the 'follow' button. First, I go to the main page, and from there head on down the list.  Read awhile here, read awhile there, and then take a break.  Come back, check the comments.  I do like how we can see the first sentence or so, before clicking in.

I've been having some odd dreams lately, about the cemetery so mostly been keeping my stuff on the comment side.  Waiting for something to 'happen' before posting on the old house.  I'll have my grand daughter over for the next few days and have been working on the area of the new swimming pool.  It's smaller, but it came with a pump so when the chlorine goes out, I can replenish the fish pond.  That's been fun, playing with it.  Funny thing though, I got up on the roof the other day to take some pictures and this tablet does not like heat.  I guess that's why it was so cheap.

Theodora, Anna, Mary Lois,

Did y'all ever see this post?

I wrote it to help people who were used to OS find their way around here.
