I thought you were already dead? (not you, dear reader!)

soon to be gone and in some places, already forgotten:

Dead Parrot from Monty Python's Flying Circus:

'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more!
He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff!

Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies!

'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!!

THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

It's still alive? Who knew? I wonder what the replacement will be like.

We'll have to see on what MS will come up with  next NC. Of course for some it won't be such a surprise.

For some senior members of Congress, ignorance is bliss!

The pols named in your linked article may not have ever  or only rarely used email themselves - accountability's such a bitch, after all - but their staffs have and you can be sure there's a form on each of their websites to control constituents' emails to them - and they all have websites, I don't even need to search to know that. The ugliness in this, the potential scandal - if only - is that people like Graham, McCain, Roberts, Shelby, Hatch and, yes, Schumer are less luddites than prima donnas (dons?) who don't do much of anything for themselves. We handsomely provide for a servant class for them.

I had to do fill out some financial aid stuff a few weeks ago for my son on a government site, and could NOT get the website to work.  Called tech support, and they told me to sign in with Internet Explorer.  Sure enough, that's all it took.  Makes a person wonder.

@NC - I read another article where the so called "Greatest Generation" (which includes some of the more mossback members of the Hill) were labeled as the "Laziest Generation" for not embracing 21st Century technology, thereby creating the "servant class" of young aides, clerks and interns that are coming to resent the current state of affairs.

Still, on the other hand you have yunguns like Congressmen Shock from Illinois who resigned yesterday because he was too much into P90 workouts, selfies on Instagram and basically putting out his extravagance on the web for all to see.

@JJ - Yup. At times, it seemed that pen and paper worked better than MSIE. I think alot of the commercial/govt sites that depend on Explorer will get some sort of support as they transition over to whatever replaces it.

I was wondering if anyone was fond enough of their younger days to recall the year the movie on the video was made: 1985-1986. The same year that Windows 1.0 came out!
