I'll be looking at the moon.... A musical question....

I'm developing a medley for an up-coming performance which includes the following pieces:

How High the Moon

Fly Me to the Moon

Moon River

Moonglow

Moonlight Sonata

Moonlight Seranade

Moonlight in Vermont

Which piece should open and which piece should be the finale of this lunar musical interlude?

This is not a riddle or a trick question.

I'm interested in the input...re what would make this an interesting and entertaining effort and offering. ...

Nice theme. I'd choose "Fly Me to the Moon" to open because it jumps and "Moonlight Serenade" to close because of its wistfulness.

AKA has my thoughts.

I had to look up two of these. I didn't know Moonlight in Vermont and I didn't know the name of Moonglow. I think Fly Me to the Moon makes a decent opener. How High the Moon is a bit too frenetic to open with - if you don't play it fast, it could also work.

I'd actually close with Moon River. Same rationale.

You doing the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata as written or are you faking it?

@Kosh;  "You doing the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata as written or are you faking it?"

I'm only improvising  a few bars for the sake of recognition as  modulaion or segue...The entire 1st movement is too long to work well in this concept....

What's your estimated time for the whole set?

@Kosh;  I will play the medley as a single number sampling the tunes listed.

It's a signature element of my solo performances.

@Kosh;  To answer your question, 5 to 7 minutes...

Ron! This is a wonderful set of music. It should make for a gorgeous and fun medley. Are you planning to record it? Would sure love to see/hear it...

@Rosi; No promises, but I'll try after a few times through and a bit of polish...
