Here we go again.  Hurricane season has arrived with a double whammy.  I remember last year when I had just moved into my cabin and my daughter says her cel phone would be out being replaced for a couple days so good luck with the hurricane.   I get it now.  Im pretty blaise about them and smiled at the frantic shoppers in the grocery store today.  Ive already eaten all the special snacks I stocked up on to get through the storm.

If I blow down Im going out clean.  I finally started mopping today.  The mildew collects quickly and ive been bitten by fire ants so I was really motivated.   It is a constant upkeep here so I dont have much choice.  Priorities.  Special projects are on hold as I struggle to just survive.

It is not impossible here tho.  I kind of like the storm.  Bring it on.  Better not tempt it I guess but it is just a physical phenomena and not a spirit bearing down on me for my evil ways.   We are all equally at risk here and it is nice to feel the community hunker down together to get through the next few days.  I got some hurricane warnings on my phone and one building had boards on the windows already.

There are all kinds of human groupings.  Sometimes you get thrown together with people you would never imagine.   There are lots of characters here in Hawaii.  Tough and laid back.  We will be fine. It is already fizzling as it reaches landfall.

Most Hurricanes fizzle, but pay attention.  Even with 70mph winds stuff can go sideways.  Good luck.

Yep, it is all about the exact location that it hits.  Usually the land and the volcanos keep that from happening and you just get lots of grey rain.  Flooding is a problem so by rights I should just stay in today...glad I got out yesterday.   Schools and lots of jobs closed.

The second hurricane will hit this weekend and I hear there is a third one after that.  wow.

Yikes! That is just a little too much weather excitement for me!
Be safe.

I was thinking of you...and all of the people I know in Hawaii.  Hope the fire ants stay at bay...wish our box-elder bugs would.  Rain/drought....always looks greener eh?

Oh for Pete's is now a Tropical Storm warning and will not make land.  Still dangerous but this always happens.  The volcanoes on each side of me throw off the hurricanes like trusted guardians.   Phooey.   But really I am happy not to see the damage that a landing would have caused.

Count yourself blessed.  Pick some flowers and toss them into a crater.  R&L ;-)

I found an interesting little atoll that the hurricane might actually hit.  Johnston Atoll...used to be a Coast Guard base...seems a place big ships can land.
