With all the hubbub over the Anonymous op-ed in the Failing New York Times, the most agita (from my reading) is that the Times risks significant loss of credibility, and perhaps faces an existential threat from Dear Leader and minions, if it turns out that Anonymous is the second assistant deputy director of toilet paper in the Small Business Administration. Or some such.

What all those hand wringers appear to ignore is the critical sentence:

I work for the President.

Now, it is possible that the Editors at the Times would allow Anonymous to make that statement, knowing that s/he is really the second assistant deputy director of toilet paper in the Small Business Administration, but I find that impossible to believe. The Editors preamble describes Anonymous as "a senior official in the Trump administration". That's not the second assistant deputy director of toilet paper in the Small Business Administration, either. Those two statements combined have to mean at least Cabinet member or White House denizen. Some people are scared shitless by this fucking moron, as Tillerson has it.

Not only is this person not likely to be junior, what I hear is that others in the White House say that this person’s views and proclivities are quite common on the White House staff.

earlier saw, sound was off, a news show with the chyron saying that #TFA was used freely among the staff.  it means what you think it means.  I'll even take a sec to innterTube search it....  OK.  it was Omarosa (of questionable credibility, according to some)

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman said Sunday that she and others used #TFA in text messages, a reference to the 25th Amendment, when President Donald Trump did something "insane" or "so crazy."

He/She is not alone, and it may well be that the anonymous author is not a single individual....

If he/she is not acting alone, but wrote the piece as a solo author, it would follow that he/she received prior approval from the 'group' to release and publish it.

I would also surmise that these folks have pledged to each other that, as a result of this publication, their fate shall be a collective consequence of making it known that they are working together to protect and defend our Demcracy and the Republic...

kosher:

hard to argue.  but acronyms can have multiple translations.  you have my blessing.

Ron:

I seem to recall Tillerson/McMaster/etc. were said to have such a pact.  if true, it clearly didn't work out.  but I do agree that it makes sense to be a "Murder on The Orient Express".

but... I do agree that any replacements for most of the WH staff would be more toadier than what we have now.  to that end, publishing doesn't seem to make much good sense.  ego boosting, fur shur.  the witch hunt is in full swing.  unless, of course, there really are 'dozens and dozens' in the cabal.  but if there were, resignations of so many at once would clearly bring down the administration.  not even the cocksuckers in Congress could ignore such an event.
