Again - while minding my own business, I was in the "Pick-Up Prescriptions" Line at my local CVS with maybe 15 people ahead of me; as I took my usual stance of patience, then annoyance & finally into regret; as I'm about to miss my "Maury" Show!
But suddenly, I was stricken with alertness; as the woman in front of me was talking to the man in front of her asking him very personal questions in a most intimate manner.
I quickly surmised their conversation had been going on longer than when I first arrived; as it was getting pretty familiar - yet after a minute; could tell they were not related & were indeed - Strangers.
I could see Body Language only from the back & understand only Professionals have that prowess - but since I just got new & improved Hearing Aids this week - I felt invincible!
While only hearing every other word; when I looked at her clothes, well-coiffed hair & thick waist, I ascertained the woman - was in fact, an older woman & Single.
(She was Blonde - but it's a crazy PC World out there & I think I'll leave that tidbit out!)
He was easier to decipher; he turned around sideways to talk to her & was 6 feet tall, around 60 & ruggedly handsome.
She was The Questioner for the whole 20 minutes; as we inched our way in line to pick up our Prescriptions. And, this wasn't unusual; as they have Condoms fitted while you wait! Pfft, it's L.A.!
Obviously, a Wuss (or really in need of his medication) - because he answered every question & when I started listening - he said he hadn't seen his daughter in 14 years.
When he explained, he said - he bought her a new Volkswagen, she disappeared & didn't appreciate it - but was goaded by her Mother to be that way.
That's when the Questioner started to go "Dr. Phil" on him. And said, "You're an Enabler". And, the guy said, "Thank you - I didn't know".
Trying to look busy - it took a lot for me to take my eyes off the products on the shelves to the left & right of me; but I did manage to read all of the Side Effects for most everything & thanks to those 2; have lost my will to live!
All in all, this woman was clearly "On the Make", even though he is still married to that "Enabled" woman; but I followed it to the very end - right up to their parting at the Pick-Up Prescriptions Window.
He let her go ahead of him. No, not gallant - to watch her walk away! Men!
My Prescription? The Doctor didn't call it in yet!
