My wife and I have 2. This is our second set of retired racing greyhounds. We got our first 24 years ago.

Racers are a specialty breed. They live on a farm or dog track for their first 2 years, so they don’t learn to play (though they are naturally playful) nor do they walk up stairs or learn to interact with humans in the way a Lab might.

They also can NEVER be let off a leash unless in a fenced in area.

We walk our two hounds each Sunday morning at 9 am as part of a group that meets each week in a park some 30 miles from our house.

This weekend was the weekend closest to Halloween, so naturally, many of the dog’s owner dressed their hounds for the day. My wife found hats for Aggie and Mickey. Others had scarves with Halloween decorations.

Twas harmless fun.

While I enjoyed the hats, I must admit that I would never have searched for them, as my wife did, nor had back up scarves in case the hats didn't work. In fact after 15 minutes, the hats had to be removed and so Aggie ended up with just a fluffy collar. I refused to allow my wife to put such a collar on Mickey. Mick has such a fragile hold on masculinity as it is, we dare not get him into cross dressing.
