Your love covers me like a blanket

But the sorrow seeps through and tears burn my eyes

The space you left empty

A hole in my heart which will never heal

Your smile and grace knew no bounds

Your art laid in your works

A path never to grow over

There will never be enough time or hellos for this one goodbye

Why is love in death so terribly painful?

Why can’t love in life be strong enough

To defy the death when it comes?

This lovely painting by Kansas City artist Susan Creamer Joy hangs in my living room. So much better than therapy.

R & L. This touched me, Jenny.

Thank you JMac. I found a rough draft of this in my documents this morning, thought I'd finish it.

Tink, its a one to one ratio. Every birth, there is a death. I'm trying so hard to draw inspiration from my mom's life and just in general as I embark on this new chapter in my life. Its a hellava transition. Keep your chin up kitty.

Thanks Rita. I thought I'd break down in tears when I first saw it, but it brings me so much peace. Those eyes, that smile. It truly was therapeutic.

Thanks Zanelle! I started this awhile ago, agonized over it some more today and decided to push publish.

Beautiful and sad

Death is a crude amputation leaving behind tattered edges that never quite heal

Taking with it not only the loved one but a bite out of the soul of those left behind

Lovely portrait

"A crude amputation leaving behind tattered edges that never quite heal" is an apt description. Thank you for stopping by.
