Chick-Fil-A, an extremely conservative anti-gay marriage company, ran an ad during the Grammies. It consisted of cows handing out VR headsets and people reacting with obvious delight to whatever the video is, then a note to go to their website to view it.
Maybe one of you can find the ad. It may prove difficult as it’s been pulled, even from YouTube. The video it links to on the Chick-Fil-A website has also been pulled.
It has to do with the music from the ad, which is “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” a Jefferson Starship song, to which Grace Slick apparently owns the rights. As you might imagine given her history, Slick is not exactly a Christian conservative. When Chick-Fil-A approached her about using the song, her initial reaction was “Fuck No” until she thought about it, at which point she said “Fuck Yes.”
Why would she do such a thing?
Because she figured out that they’d just use someone else’s song, and this way she’d be able to combat their cause.
