I just took my dog Mabel out at 9:00. We’re supposed to get serious weather here.

She’s shaking the snow off. What you see in the background is a local service for hire plowing and snow blowing driveways. The road hasn’t been plowed yet and it’s still snowing hard, hard to see because it’s a fine snow. Later we get 40 MPH winds. You can imagine what that will do to wind chills.

Mabel not shaking. Still not a good shot, but the falling snow may be an issue. I’m on a porch.

I’m due to fly out of Syracuse tomorrow late afternoon on a short business trip to California. My ability to do that may be in some doubt.

We hadn’t had much snow here yet.

For those of you who don’t understand the title, the Southern Tier is the region of New York State bordering on Pennsylvania to the south. Binghamton, Elmira, Corning, I think even Ithaca, though that’s a bit further north. The main highway across the Southern Tier actually dips into Pennsylvania for a few miles. I have no idea why.

The Southern Tier is definitely NOT the Southern District....

No snow here. Howling winds, heavy downpours and then the sky cracks open to sunshine.

I like the photos.

The street and driveway are already plowed, as are my walks. However, the driveway plow guys got here before the street plow guy so the driveway’s end would have to be dug out. If you look toward the garage doors of the blue house, just below the street you can see the pile of snow at the foot of my driveway. However, that wouldn’t take long. The roads are slippery and I don’t have anywhere I have to go today I don’t think.

Yup. Looks like the scene out our windows here in SouWestO. Started snowing yesterday, including high winds, so Red was out doing her dance with the snowblower. Continued overnight, augmented by the municipal snow plows that stacked it all up at the foot of the driveway. A busy afternoon coming up.

Stay warm, Kosh.

BRRRR ~ You're certainly not in NC anymore!

Nice shots. We're planning a trip east next summer all around your area and further east to visit family and friends, but there is no way I could handle those winters!

Stay warm  : )

Oh my. I'm cold just looking at your pics.
Please stay warm. While California might seem like a nice alternative to the weather you're currently experiencing, I hear that the airports have their own problems these days.
