French Telecom Giant Orange Sued After 19 Suicides

French Telecom Giant Orange Sued After 19 Suicides:  French telecom giant “Orange” is being sued for moral harassment as well as other charges, after 19 employees killed themselves and another 12 attempted suicide over a period of three-years - with hundreds of employees blaming the company’s toxic work culture for much of the employees’ mental health issues.

Word has it the telecom giant initially tried to explain it all away by claiming these employees just decided they didn’t wanna go on living anymore after being told that American comedian Jerry Lewis was dead.

Of course, here in America, we have our own “orange” problem, in the form of an orange President - whom, I suspect, has made more than a few of people - wish they that were dead.

Sad but True

Suicide runs in my family, so does patricide since my father died of suicide and his father was shot once with a .22 in the back by father's 5y/o self's oldest of five siblings whose father bled out, mother and siblings in attendance for the occassion.

Usually there's a formula for suicidal phenomenon, equations that reflect successful suicides verses attempted suicides.  I can vouch that there is little difference between attempted suicide and suicidal lackadaisicalness.  Maybe some micro-seconds difference, i dunno, i'm hungry for reports from the other side but anticipating none.

Assuming the attempts are actual rather than pleas for attention. Some people want to be caught in time, some don’t. From what I remember reading years ago, there are some gender correlations with this phenomenon, with males more likely than females not to want to be stopped.

I’ve had what feel like communications of sorts from the other side but not anything as clear as a report.

That's sad and quite baffling in a Jim Jones sort of way.

I've been in those situations myself.  You're working at a place which promotes a very sick and toxic work environment, combined with a nearly impossible workload.  Yet you have financial responsibilities and must continue to earn a living to survive and maintain any personal dignity.  Perhaps the job market in your industry and your area is also quite tight, and you are forced to stay on, despite being at the end of your rope.  Some folks feel completely trapped in a situation with no way out of an utterly miserable life and simply choose to just go for it.
