~Kim Gamble  to me - February 10, 2012

"I expect to see verbiage & wit & ol' fashioned erudite lorianne wisdom, should you feel inclined.    Whip us up a poem, love :-)"

well Kim, since you asked...

Flying For Two (for Rita)

Even now
through the din of pain
I remember it all
the music, the laughter
the frayed edge thoughts
of painters and poets

Even now
as I try to explain
what only you could understand
how we dipped and soared
and sometimes tumbled
gliding high above that sea of words

Even now
I can hear the cackle caw of laughter
the chirp and screech of pain
the squawk of call and response...

call and response
even now

These memories, they're like my skin
tattooed with the feathers
of night words spent
trying to imagine flight

Lorianne, this is lovely and sad and beautiful.

I loved thinking of Kim and Rita, in the middle of the night, dancing all aswirl....

yes Art ...free.

Seagulls are quite clever. When you see them in groups stamping their feet, they are imitating the sound of rain in order to trick the earthworms to come to the surface.  Tricky, intelligent lil things. The male seagull is also a wonderful parent who share and takes turns incubating the eggs and then will share in the nurturing and feeding of the offspring.  To me, Kim was always a seagull.

Trig - I do/am smiling. Hard for me to think of Kim without smiling.

Anna - I always think about them as the nightbirds, swirling & yes! dancing through the darkened hallways of Open Salon late at night

Kim was indeed one of those people who you remember with a smile. Not so many one can say that about.

How beautiful~~ I am so touched.. thank you-Love.  Whip one up you did indeed, it gorgeous, like all of your poems.  Flying for two.  It sounds corny but yes the nights were full of words.  Staying at my mom's in the attic she could hear the din of voices, in the middle of the night, the noosey person she was she would ask : "who is that you are talking to up there that late"  Kim would tease me and say be careful mom has the cup up to the wall if we were getting to boisterous.  I started putting in earphones to the computer because Kim would laugh so loud...

How do you say thanks friend.  I guess just Thank You, Lorianne.  It's very meaningful right now. it's a weird kind of grieving, disconnected but you make me realize I am not. Later I will post the letter Arielle wrote to share with all of you.  Love and a hug.
