Fight Fire With Fire

Fight Fire With Fire

The Resident Artist has been cranking out paintings in anticipation of a couple of shows in September. I take a look at each one as they are added to the inventory. (Photographing them is trickier than one might think.) I am particularly fond of this one. A Catholic girl who grew up in New York City and Connecticut, she incorporates that iconography in some of her pieces in interesting ways, I think. This one is done in acrylics and measures about 21" by 18".

By the way, she is adding the accent on the second "o" as we speak.

What fun to have a resident artist around.  Your photographs of her art are a good match.  She is a genius!!

Genius? I do not know about that, Zanelle. I am not the one to judge that. But I can tell you that she is catching the attention of some people around here.

She is approaching burn out up there in the studio right now. I shall take her out tonight for some music and fill her with as much vodka and cranberry juice as I can get down her. A neanderthal approach to the problem, I admit. But I have seen it work before.

Good luck with the music and booze, but I've heard that dancing helps better than the caveman approach.  Great art, great photo, great post.  R&L ;-D

Thank you for the good wishes, all. We have an automobile here in addition to the two pickup trucks, one hers and one mine. All I need do now is dust that automobile off, load her up, and speed south to the city with gravel dust pluming up behind me. I have a particular cabaret singer in mind.

wow. this is as gorgeous as i figured her Art would be. she really is a genius. your photo is excellent too. it always almost brings me to tears when someone is so supportive of his/he partner's work. oh, and vodka cranberry???? major medicinal qualities! i love the colors but what really impresses me is that there is a 3 dimensional aspect too. it gives the appearance of Mosaics. it's just stunning. such a great reward for my selfishly wanting to tell you that i have a new post because you are such a Huge Support for me.
