On April 6, Ivanka Trump's company won provisional approval from the Chinese government for three new trademarks, giving it monopoly rights to manufacture and sell Ivanka brand jewelry, bags and spa services in the world's second-largest economy.

That night, the first daughter and her husband, Jared Kushner, sat next to the president of China and his wife for a steak and Dover sole dinner at Mar-a-Lago, her father’s Florida resort.

Her company's Chinese employees earn an average $62.00 PER WEEK!

IvankaTrump is an unpaid government employee with the title of special assistant to the president.

Her appointment is pure nepotism. There is nothing on her résumé that suggests Ivanka Trump is qualified, by any traditional definition of the term, to advise the president of the United States.

As a White House employee, even an unpaid one, Trump, like her husband, Jared Kushner, will have to abide by federal ethics regulations.

The Emoluments Clause in Article I of the Constitution reads as follows:

"No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them [i.e., the United States]; shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

Trump did a 180 re policy toward China after he and President Xi had some of the "most beautiful chocolate cake you've ever seen".

IvankaTrump is not Bobby Kennedy.

True Ron, but, Confederate Yankee voters, as you know, don't have the capacity to appreciate such details and honestly can't find a problem with her and her father running textile operations in China while crowing about jobs in the USA. Fully divided, conquered and Southern strategied, the resultant racist hate clouds their narrow minds and uses up what small capacity is there.

Bobby got paid to be AG.  Not sure that trademark recognition by the PRC is "a fee, salary, or profit from employment or office,"  or for that matter any value at all.

And, about eating the cake, off topic but can you imagine the level of naivete towards China, Korea specifically and the world in general? Doesn't understand a country we had a huge and significant war with already? Thinks China would be OK with more USA military bases a few miles from its borders, or, 10 million brainwashed near zombie poor North Korean cousins of ours being let loose from concentration camps right into China proper? What is larger, the hubris or the ignorance? I used to wonder whether it was treason or simple incompetence, now I know it is actually a completely separate agenda with no true patriotism attached anywhere.

@MS; The perfect litmus test for the evaluation and analysis of the Trump Presidency and administration within the context and framework of American racism is:

"What would the reaction or response be if Trump were black?"

@JMac & @JW;

It’s clear that neither of you are lawyers or very good at interpretation of Constitutional or legal language...

1. "Bobby got paid to be AG":

"NO PERSON holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them [i.e., the United States]..."

Ivanka Trump, while not paid, holds an official position of "Trust"...

2. The "emolument" need not be something of extrinsic or intrinsic "monetary value"....

She was granted a monopoly in the manufacture and sale of items in her line of retail goods in China.

The average labor cost of $62.00 per week per employee. There's clearly value in that number viz a viz the international market.

3. Re nepotism: Bobby Kennedy was at least minimally qualified to be AG. Ivanka Trump has no qualifications whatsoever to be a senior advisor to the President of the United States.

This doesn't look right because it isn't. There are so many ethical questions here that an attorney one year out of law school could make a career out of doing the work involved in litigating and resolving the conflicts of interest cases presented by the Trump Presidency and administration.

I did the math, so actually I do think Ivanka is qualified to advise her "Daddy":

X = Ivanka is a self-serving, money grubbing bitch and marginal idiot.

Y = "Daddy" is a self-serving, money grubbing douchebag and total idiot.

Therefore, X > Y

There is also a corollary equation that states:  Nobody said the advice would be worth a damn.

Perhaps the only 'qualification' she needs:

Ron- the farcical reality of it all is simple, if a Black man, never mind Obama, anyone, did even one of the many wrong things Trump does/has done/will do there would be a complete and total right wing meltdown, Al Haig type of treason.
