Bob Dylan - Forever Young by wearyoldman

Dear James,

I wanted to imagine that I didn't know

how intimately it feels to be alone

but it was something you and I intrinsically knew

we were friends in the dark

we had "intimate knowledge" of that

as they say

the loneliness of the universe

how many friends we could have

or not have

there was still that 3am of the soul

and there you were

lifting me with a song

or laughter over your latest caper

always the underdog

James, The Smartest Boy In the Room

I have no words for how you said goodbye

Only that I understand, little brother,

Dear James,

I understand.

farewell,  little brother

I'm sorry, Rita.  :'(  He was your little brother  I remember sometimes reading the aftermath of your late guys were so funny.  I feel he hid his low lows in the day or in public, but you saw more. He must have had many, many times of desperation, but just tipped too far this time.  It must have been so scary for him never to know when things were about to go bad.  :'(   He was such a sweetie.

Thanks Rita Shibr
I once mentioned to
James Mark Emmerling
that He was Like the
Brother I had grieved
Who died when I was in
the fourth grade. Sigh.
I'll slowly process this.
James Be smiling at Rita.
