Cruz Alleges Trump’s Tax Returns Might Show Mafia Ties

Cruz Alleges Trump’s Tax Returns Might Show Mafia Ties:  Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz suggested to ABC News that rival Donald Trump may be reluctant to release his tax returns because he my be doing business with the mob.  Now I have no idea if Trump has any Mafia ties, but I seriously doubt its something that would show up on his tax returns.  In related news, a mob spokesperson denied the charges, telling reporters “dare ain’t no such ting as a Mafia, so fuhgeddabouddit.”

Trump Draws Criticism Over David Duke Endorsement:  Republican front-runner Donald Trump drew sharp criticism from his rivals in both parties after initially refusing to denounce an endorsement from former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, who told listeners to his radio show that ‘voting against Donald Trump is treason to your heritage.”  Yea, well I guess that would more or less depend upon how much trailer parks are part of your heritage.

Cruz is a proven liar so the Donald need pay his accusation no never mind... he finally got around to denying David Duke:

"I don't know anything about David Duke, OK?" Trump said on CNN's State of the Union. "I don't know anything about what you're even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So, I don't know."

The Donald claims to be ignorant of the blatant racist appeal of his "dog whistle" rhetoric, but he's perfectly willing to accept the votes that it brings to his campaign.  In a way I'm glad to see these people taking off their hoods to express their poisonous bigotry because that shows how much more work we have to do to make America understand that Black lives matter.  Brown lives matter.  Muslim lives matter.

I expect that it will take us at least two more generations before we find some sense of equanimity and every time I think about it I remember this scene from Bulworth:
