Couple Marries Underwater in Florida Keys Marine Sanctuary: In a break with tradition, an ocean-loving British army sergeant and a former diving instructor have gotten married in an underwater ceremony in the Florida Keys national marine sanctuary.
Wow, its hard to fathom how they even came up with this idea. They must be really “deep” thinkers, or else a couple of rebels - because this kind of goes against society’s morays. Either that, or they’re willing to go to any lengths to insure Donald Trump doesn’t accidentally show up at their wedding when he’s on one of his Florida visits.
Personally, I don’t see what’s the big issue? It sure beats getting married in some “dive bar.” And they sure won’t have to shell out the big bucks for this wedding. No need to go to some loan shark and borrow money. Besides, what’s the worst that could happen - they get bitten by sharks? Of course, if anything like that ever did happen, they’d better hope there’s a good sturgeon around to treat the wounds. But everything will be fine, you just wait and sea.
Now my question is, given that everyone knows there’s a lot of fish in the sea, I wonder what finally made them decide to take the plunge? Guess they both wanted a long term relationship, not just some reef encounter. We all know the drill - “till depth do us part.” Anyway, they seem like a really nice couple, it surfs them right. I send them all my best fishes. And I have the perfect wedding gift too - a waterbed! One day, they’ll look back at this unique wedding and think - “tanks for the memories. We had a whale of a time.” You bet they did, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd.
Of course, there’s always going to be a few shellfish critics who feel there’s something fishy about all this. They’ll probably say this couple is “all wet.” I’d like to remind them that - with the way global warming’s been going, its a pretty safe bet that in the not too distant future - all Florida weddings will likely be underwater.
