conspiracy theory: trump money laundering russian mobster embezzlement via real estate

hi all. used to write about conspiracy theory a lot on my old salon site & got a lot of hits on that. havent been quite as active on that subj here but have written a bit. lately conspiracy theory has become semi mainstream which makes it quite a bizarre situation. the minority view is now widespread.[e]

theres a lot of factors behind this, but Trump himself seems to be one of the biggest conspiracy theorists. (by now some of the early findings/ jury is in on the Trump Era in the 1st 100 days, and the old palin phrase "lipstick on a pig" comes to my mind...[d]) maybe this is a case of "it takes one to know one". a "conspiracist", that is, or more accurately, "conspirator".[a] have been slowly collecting links in my broad web like a spider.

was trying to make sense of all this. one way of looking at it. what happens in a world governed or dominated by people who believe, Its Only Wrong If You Get Caught?™ how far in life/ success could one get via that pov/ mindset/ philosophy? which reminds me of a now-semi-famous exchange:

O’Reilly told Trump that Putin is a killer. Trump’s reply: ‘You think our country is so innocent?’ [wp]

and how close is that (maybe childish) thinking to Two Wrongs Make a Right?™ and what a coincidence, cohort O'Reillys fortunes have changed quite a bit himself, hes into his own conspiracy theories these days...[x] ... not even to mention the whole "wife dragged down stairs" thing [y]... which reminds me of another saying, If You Lie Down With Dogs You Might Get Fleas™... which wrt this context maybe really an understatement?

this post/ unleashing is triggered by the anodyne titled yet staggering [a13] ref by "VT" and my own headline is a restatement of it, and also the comey firing (which [a13] is responding to). have gotten various pushback on quoting VT here. am not going to respond to feebleminded comments that dont analyze any of the information and just say that anything quoting VT must be wrong (but in the spirit of vast cyberspatial openness, am not rejecting such comments either)! there are dozens of links here and whats fascinating is how much correlates with [a13] from mainstream/ credible publications. [a13] is an incredible masterwork of dot-connecting. it looks like an early near-rosetta stone. its a huge sketch of the big picture by brilliant analysts whove been working in the adjacent areas for decades.

we live in a complex age, so-called "info age"; the internet can help us make sense of the noise, but focused "intelligence" (in the multiple senses) is required. VT is an incredible publication put together by a lot of ex-intelligence types and also academics. am willing to talk about any of the actual contents/ items. they have extraordinary connections all over the world and leverage them masterfully to get the big picture. they are not so good at publicity and journalistic conventions (eg inverted pyramid writing, citing all sources, etc). but their information is utterly eyepopping, explosive and earthshaking in more ways than one.

my feeling is that corruption in our govt may be at an all time historical high, and that this contributes to the widespread conspiracy paranoia. in a country of 300M people and a very large govt, lots of shady stuff can go on without people realizing it. the public is on a treadmill, a sort of slumbering/ sleepwalking masses, and has little time to pay any attn to deep politics which ofc is mindnumbingly boring.[e32] will that lead to an eventual mass psychotic break, so to speak? ("holy @#%& trump is a criminal") or maybe we're already in one? ("trump is a buffoon/ scoundrel/ highly unethical person but defn not a criminal!") some conditions seem to be there. we will see.

how is trump connected to putin, and what is the real nature of putin?[b] that is a question that is hard for me and many others to answer. there seems to be a lot of smokescreens going on that make the picture quite cloudy. there is some kind of connection. and it is a chance to reevaluate putins history. which is quite dark. how about the USA today headline "dozens of russian deaths cast suspicion on Putin"?[b16] a very rare connection between world events and conspiracy theory in the MSM. topsy turvy times we live in.

have blogged about trumps mental state previously and that thread of info has increased substantially.[c]

one could become a top expert on internet conspiracy theory just by following all these links. the chance that anyone would do so seems to me to me to be about this )( close to either trump or putin being charged with any crime whatsoever. that is an entirely different question of whether they are actual criminals. sometimes, thats a big gap (between charges and mass circumstantial evidence/ suspicion), and thats where conspiracy theory flourishes. lately its big enough to hold a billionaire, or maybe two. state crime fighting institutions/ groups eg FBI etc seem to be "captured". as [a13] says, and have long suspected, "weak/ chasing shadows". (plato would sympathize/ maybe concur.)

would go into much more detail on all this but there is not much audience for it here & would mostly just get pushback anyway. if you have any affinity for this material, please "risk" a comment. over several years we incrementally/ painstakingly built up a small motley crew/ mutual admiration society on Salon way back in the day on these topics but even in cyberspace those types of people and confluences are rare. (missing you guys, snif... does anyone remember Libby? what happened to her anyway?)

footnote: re the title, how does one launder money via real estate? a complicated topic, not an expert on this but apparently the basic model for money laundering via any mechanism can be boiled down as follows. corrupt entity A has tons of illicit cash. corrupt entity B is, loosely, ie ostensibly, a "businessman" who putatively sells C. but C is really a sham, mostly worthless, masquerading as something with real value. A "buys" C from B, overpaying for it. all the accounting is done based on the high value but B returns kickbacks to A under the table. the kickbacks are "washed/ clean". A/ B both gain. also defn note the whole thing can be done nearly equivalently with C2 or debt on C... which reminds me/ now wondering/ exercise to reader, how many google hits does the keywords trump bankrupt(cy) get?

postscript: D, the mass public, loses/ ultimately pays for it all, but spread over everyone (a large group). but D is disorganized, distracted, ineffectual. it relies on E, government, which is compromised. E is only as good as Ds oversight. but D, which could have substantial power if exercised, is lazy and really nearly asleep at the wheel. as an expr goes "you get what you work for, not what you wish for". (just saw that in a funny movie with quite a bit of wisdom, "how to be a latin lover"...)

another zen question of the moment: is a white collar criminal worse than a murderer? technically/ legally/ in some cases, the former could get a stronger sentence. another question: which is more dangerous? it might seem an easy answer. on the other hand, lines/ boundaries can get blurry. another question, whats the difference?

am even getting a bit of that uneasy, one might say nauseous feeling that someone around all this might end up with Cement Shoes™ in the near future. maybe Comey is a lucky one "in comparison"...

Way too many words.  With or with out lipstick my Grandfather offered this bit of advice: "Never argue with fools, drunks or pigs.  You just end up down in the mud and the pigs like it."  R&L

I assume I know who you mean by VT. On one hand, I like Jack and always got along with him. On the other, the level of research substantiation is seriously variable and I've seen a nasty tendency toward the antisemitic, which is why I won't touch them.

lol, hey its only the future of the country thats at stake. no problem/ pressure/ big deal. :P

If you're saying Sarah Palin is a lipstick-wearing pig, I totally agree, but that sure hasn't hurt her new career doing evangelical donkey shows with Michele Bachmann down in Tijuana.

i've been writing for months that the crux of the trump/putin relationship is money laundering   i have little doubt

further thought: rereading/ acc to [a13], its not so clear but apparently asserts plan to steal oil revenue from Iran semi hatched by US CIA (rogue elements?) and maybe with some knowledge by obama, and that some of these funds were laundered through trump real estate. VT is also reporting a lot of judicial corruption involved. so it seems quite possible to me that the US Deep State may be involved in some of these shady deals and therefore seriously doubt the real truth will come to full light and rather doubt at moment there will ever be any prosecutions, indictments, or convictions. note also this news: Bhararas money laundering case recently settled, looks very suspicious to me, am guessing elements of coverup

I assume you meant Veterans Today. If so,

1. I meant Jack Heart and

2. Some of the stuff in that publication has been blatantly antisemitic. The title of the following would seem to indicate antizionism, but check out the content regarding the Talmud, which predates the State of Israel by over 1 1/2 millennia.
