"Clear, Unequivocal Reassurance" We Made The Right Choice...

Couple of things afore we get started...

  • Caitlin Johnstone is one of my all-time favorite bloggers.  She totally rocks, IMO.  If you don't regularly read her, you should.
  • I'm sure "some" of you think I should quit riding Hillary...  to that I say, "TOUGH SHIT!".  I will get off her back the second she shuts the fuck up and goes far, far away.  As long as she insists on inserting her "poor, poor, me"s into the news cycle (not to mention that totally ludicrous, "I'm leading the "Resistance" bullshit), I'm going to keep pointing out what an utter, elitist, self-serving bitch she really is...

Now for Caitlin!

Hillary Clinton Continues To Assure America That It Made The Right Choice

I don’t understand why everyone’s so hard on Hillary Clinton, personally. This great woman has accomplished so much, from being married to Bill Clinton to collapsing the nation of Libya, and here she is creating space in her busy schedule of drinking champagne, assaulting her house servants and masturbating to classified footage of Saudi war crimes to reassure her country that it made the right choice in November. All out of the goodness of her own heart.

Here is an actual, real-life, nonfiction excerpt from the transcript of Clinton’sinterview at the 2017 Code Conference yesterday, which I swear I am not making up:

“And there have been some studies done since the election that if you look — let’s pick Facebook. If you look at Facebook, the vast majority of the news items posted were fake. They were connected to, as we now know, the 1,000 Russian agents who were involved in delivering those messages.”

In addition to whatever that was, Clinton also repeated the now fully debunked lie she’s been spreading since October that “seventeen agencies” in the US intelligence community had agreed Russia was to blame for the WikiLeaks releases in the last election cycle, argued that Russia couldn’t have known how to run a propaganda campaign in the United States without insider information from the Trump camp, and blamed her loss on James Comey, treason, misogyny, “weaponized information”, Russia and Wikileaks (which she continues to assert are the “same thing”), fake news, the alternative media, the mainstream media, the right-wing media, social media, the New York Times (yes, that New York Times), the DNC (yes, thatDNC), the Supreme Court ruling on the Voting Rights Act, unreasonably high expectations that she would win, the Mercers, and bots.

“I take responsibility for every decision I made, but that’s not why I lost,” Clinton said.

And there you have it: clear, unequivocal reassurance that the American people did the right thing by refusing to hand that woman the keys to the most powerful military force in the history of civilization. Obviously someone who can’t even take personal responsibility for a poorly-run political campaign would never accept personal responsibility for the lives lost due to any use of the unfathomable killing power she’d have been granted as Commander-in-Chief of the United States.

Can you imagine that total lack of accountability dancing with the power to invade sovereign nations, topple governments, and deploy nuclear weapons?
“Madame President, what happened to the Philippines???”
“Breitbart and Infowars are using weaponized information.”
“But you just carpet-bombed Manila!”
“Umm… Putin?”

This is the same woman who laughed at Gaddafi’s horrific death after the rape of Libya she herself spearheaded, mind you. The woman who wanted to install a no-fly zone in Syria despite top generals warning that this could lead to war with both Syria and Russia. The woman throughout her entire political career has been pushing for disastrous war blunder after disastrous war blunder seemingly at every opportunity, who both loves war and sucks at it. This woman, who continues to demonstrate a complete lack of any personal responsibility for any of her actions, asked the American people to trust her to use the incomparable military power of a US President responsibly.

And that’s on top of, you know, the lying. I know we’ve all been very polite until now about Hillary’s propensity for making stats up on the fly but really, Hills, seventeen intelligence agencies you say? Russia is the “same thing” as WikiLeaks? Well, I’ll be.

Someone who lies, who can’t take responsibility, who blames “fake news” for everything she doesn’t like, who makes hilariously conspiratorial-sounding statements like the “Russian WikiLeaks” nonsense she pulled out of her hoo-ha — does that not sound like another certain 2016 presidential candidate? Hillary would have been Trump with a vagina but without all the eyes on her. Trump but with a complicit media who happily make the case for her alternative facts being true. Trump but with a lust for blood and war.

Americans were given a horrible choice between two historically awful candidates, and they chose the lesser of two evils. We were told that if Trump was elected America would be either a smouldering crater or a goose-stepping fascist dystopia where Muslims are kept in concentration camps by now, and yet seven months later the US is still pretty much the same everyday corporatist bullshit factory Obama left it. We’re all still praying for a miracle to save us from the ecocidal, omnicidal trajectory America’s unelected power establishment has had our planet on, but at least we’re still in the fight. That is likely a lot more than you‘d have been able to say for a war-loving, Russia-hating strategical imbecile with no sense of responsibility for her own behavior.

The mass media machine is trying to force Americans to swallow the belief that they made the wrong choice in November, and that next time they’d better be more obedient and listen to the talking heads on TV. These people are lying, and they are wrong. There is no longer any valid reason to continue settling for this planet-killing oligarchic trajectory any longer. Keeping Hillary out of the White House was a good first step, but it was only a first step, the first of many necessary steps we’ll need to take to turn this thing around and prevent environmental catastrophe or nuclear war.

"Who do you think would be Passable at it?"

Since today's mansplainin seems to be about the proper employment of hypothetical irrelevancies as an aide to badgering, I will venture, "Sarah Michelle Gellar" and then ask in return, would Napoleon have won the Battle of Waterloo if he'd had a Sherman tank instead of a horse? Hillary-Dear might have made a somewhat less toxic president than Donald Trump, but given that his whining, self aggrandizing lies are being issued from the Oval Office while hers aren't, HRC was obviously not as good at winning presidential elections as she thought she was. That non-hypothetical fact tends to make one wonder, purely academically of course, what else she is phenomenally bad at. Alas, we'll never find out now, but hopefully she's having a good time bitching about misogyny and patting herself on the back for being the best also-ran ever.

This just in: DNC data guru denies Hillary Clinton's claim she "inherited nothing" : Andrew Therriault, the former director of data science for the Democratic National Committee, "DNC data folks: today's accusations are f***ing bull****, and I hope you understand the good you did despite that nonsense," Therriault tweeted Wednesday in a series of tweets that have since been deleted but were captured by other news outlets. "Private mode be damned, this is too important," Therriault said in another tweet. "I'm not willing to let my people be thrown under the bus without a fight."

Which of her two faces made that accusation/excuse? Hmmmm???

The literal answer to your question is that I never stopped beating my wife, any more than I stopped flying around the moon.

The foreign policy question is not hypothetical at all. Because I was answering Ron about unanswered questions, it is not obvious to you (but it is to Amy) that the question is actually about something she said about the recently deceased Zbigniew Brzezinsky. However, the question isn't "who would have been better?" but who would be passable now. What is her ideal for someone conducting foreign policy is not a Superman/Batman question. It's a political question, both in the sense of priorities and of assessment of talent/qualifications/judgment.

As to the question about Hillary hatred, it is a good question for the same reason. Actually, I think Token's answer is a good one. I'm not sure I agree with it but it makes sense.

What I've never been able to straighten out about Hillary to my satisfaction, particularly in economics, is what she does out of ideology and what she does out of political necessity. I have more patience for political necessity than most people do but, as a friend points out to me, some Democrats say the right things about identity politics but use those positions to cover their lack of action on income inequality.

As to how corporate Hillary would be as President, which at this point does qualify as a Batman/Superman question (but this post was written about her, so,I feel free to discuss her), I don't know how much worse she could be than Trump even theoretically. If Trump is forced out of office, I very much doubt Pence will reverse one iota of that. And so, instead of comparing Hillary to Trump we can compare Hillary to Pence, whom I doubt Token finds as incompetent as Trump.

AKA, seeing as how you whined and cried like a little brat over having people you told to stay off your blog not do so, I'd think you'd at least respect others that have told YOU repeatedly to keep the fuck away from me.

No wonder you like two faced assholes like Hillary and Maui Faker so much.

But it is hypothetical, Mr. Salaami, because Brzezinski is dead, and due to her own arrogance and ineptitude Hillary lost, not to mention that Donald Trump doesn't even listen to his own secretary of state's views on foreign policy let alone yours or SBA's. Discussions about whether or not it's a good idea to encourage the overthrow of a dictator when we have no clear vision of what the  end-state should even look like let alone how to get there (Obama-Clinton), arm and train and bankroll Islamic fundamentalists (Carter-Brzezinski) then walk away and leave them an entire nation state to use as a gigantic madrassa/boot camp/Disneyland for anti-Western terrorists (Bush-Baker) are no doubt interesting, but they are, nonetheless, approximately as relevant to our reality in 2017 as discussing what might have happened if P. W. Botha had got his hands on a time machine and shipped 1000 AK-47s to R. E. Lee right before the Battle of Gettysburg. Such discussions are enjoyable, and a fine way to kill a little time, but let's not delude ourselves that we're doing anything more productive here than jawing to ourselves in our quaint little online echo chamber about how many dead and non-office-holding warmongers can theoretically dance on the head of a hypothetical pin.

Drew-Silla hit the nail on the head. Due to the heavy rains the night before, a tank would NOT have helped Napoleon at Waterloo. For this to be a truly valid hypothetical, however, one must add in LAW rockets, RPGs, and a machine gun nest. I think once we factor those in we can understand why Hillary lost the election to the worst candidate since Caligula and that was certainly not due to her alleged political competence. It also explains why Napoleon didn't use extrajudicial drones strikes because those are indeed used for murder and murder never saved a soul or a country - quite the opposite actually.

But it does seem the little Emperor and the uncoronated queen do share in having a complex with both ending their lives exposed and isolated on an island.

In that respect it's hypothetical, yes, as is every political and economic post here. And yet you're commenting on this one. We're not going to affect Hillary's future, so why bother?

Except of course that we presumably vote. And maybe even donate a little after reading yet another phony survey.

It is a lot of effort for a few votes and we're not even likely to change each others' minds.

Maybe that's why Arthur James used to give me a cryptic hard time about my political posts.

@Amy &  Drew-Silla;  "Can you identify an individual, past or present, that is YOUR idea of the ideal or perfect person to conduct foreign affairs or execute foreign policy?"

If this question poses a hypothetical in your minds, it is because you have no real answer to offer in real terms.

The irony is that you have no hypothetical response beyond an absurdity or an obscenity which is little more than a sophomric attempt to recast the focus of the inquiry away from the fact that while both of you are gifted and conjuring epithets, casting aspersions, and slinging slurs, neither of you have a legitimate response to the question....

This is so because there is no legitimate response to be given  from your perspective and perch of ideological purity and operational perfection.

The simple fact is that you haven't answered the question because you can't.

Here's a hint:

Drew-Silla ventured, "Sarah Michelle Gellar"....

My reply to that would be: Drew-Silla, I would rather see you or Amy as Secretary of State or National Security Advisor.

Clearly both of you are at least as qualified and would be significantly more competent re your ideolgical perspective than what we're looking at now.

If there is anything at all fallacious connected to this and the other interrogatories I've posited here it would be the fallacies in the reasoning you would employ in your attempts to formulate and articulate something that looked like a coherent response to the questions raised...

The fact that you can acurately spell 'hypothetical' doesn't mean that the characterization is apt or acurate.

Re your wife beating question: I stopped beating my wife at scrabble decades ago....I've been divorced and single for over 25 years.

Try this one:

Is it true that lesbians prefer to shop at Sports Authoritybecause they don't like Dick's?

Comment by Drew-Silla on June 3, 2017 at 2:54am

What ??? Seriously? Are I and Amy, in your eyes, identical adversaries now to the condescendingly patriarchal good ol' boy network here at Our Salon by virtue of the fact that we both have vaginas and neither of us much like your party-anointed Mother Teresa?? Is that the best you fellas can do? SBA is herself and her views are her own, just as I am myself and my views have literally NOTHING to do with Amy's. Do either of you boys know what is the most toxic smell there is on this planet? It is the smell of testosterone.  If I thought it was worth doing, I could lay either or both of your alleged arguments to final rest in no uncertain terms, but given your many-times-demonstrated preference for talking down to females and thumping your manly fists on your sternums over dialogue, fuck you both very much and I think I'll just kick back for now and let your smug, self-entitled male ignorance speak for itself.

Comment by Token on June 3, 2017 at 2:58am

I was going to suggest John Kasich, but since Ron has done the equivalent of dropping the term "Watermelon" into a discussion of Black Lives Matter, I think it's probably a good time to just get my fat  old white guy ass out of range and under cover and watch the fireworks.......
