Look at his guy, chilling with his sign and what hopefully is a doobie. The past two days have been horrible, so I'm taking today off. Plan is to head to the bakery, walk the beach, then visit the museum to take in the recently opened exhibit of classic horror art from the collection of Kirk Hammett of Metallica. An afternoon of horror art sounds so appropriate, doesn't it?

I hope you all take a break too, to refresh your health. There will be plenty to be enraged about tomorrow. Don't let the orange (is it me or did he look extra orange yesterday?) make you miserable today.

I hear you, greenie, I tuned out a few days ago - now centering myself outside, on walks, writing stories, but had to get away from online for a few.... tonight am taking my visiting sister to see a play here and not think about current events, just for a minute.... even though this play is about an American woman who goes back to see her grandmother in N. Korea and is haunted by the ghost of Kim Jung Il.... ha! (There's no escape!)

Enjoy the world outside  : )  ... and 'see' you soon.

Veronica, when I got there, I changed my mind and had a lemon blackberry scone instead. How was the soil?

Jon, to you too.

Amy. Amy. Amy. Firstly, ewww pumpkin spice latte. Secondly, the horror movie art exhibit was wonderful. I had only half an idea of how good it would turn out to be. Horror is fun when it’s only a movie! Also there were a dozen of his custom guitars, all hand painted with horror movie iconography. I’m not a Metallica fan but those were pretty cool.

Here is the poster from the Creature from the Black Lagoon and the actual mask that the actor who played him wore.

And here is a giant poster from the Paris metro for Frankenstein. Is that good or what?!

And because I am an arteeeest and like these sorts of things (although definitely not pumpkin lattes, urp), here is the poster from Jean Cocteau’s La Belle et La Bete, which was gorgeous:

Now, I'm steeped in scones, beach, and art, and refreshed enough to deal with Trump another day.

P.S. I wore my black birks! Retch all you want :)

Anna, it's true. Glad you are also breaking from the glowing screen and walking and writing. It's finally sinking in that we are in this for a very long game. I just can't remain sane and productive if I pay attention to every bloody update and detail. I'm planning on going to the counter protest on the Common Saturday, so am relaxing up for that. I finished the cranes and it feels like I gave birth to a ten pound drawing, but will start on something new in a couple days.

Saludos, badass heron! Thank you for repping me/us on Saturday. I am right there with you only I'll also be miles and miles west of you but doing about the same exactly thing at about the same time.

The beauty and the beast gets my vote, if I have to vote, if only for the braids, the letting go and the holding on, and the sensuous mane...it's all a little too blonde for my blood but the flame and the fruit and the fraught energy more than make up for it.

The rain is pouring down and soaking in the heartland tonight...makes for good growing of living, twisting energy.

Relax up ~

Coffee break's over. Back on your heads.

Catch! I can't think of a clever phrase for my sign. Got anything, poet?

I thought that too, re: so much blonde. But Josette Day who played Belle was very blonde, and that braid was her actual hairdo for her role:

Kosher, yesterday was so good, I'm thinking I'll skip out today as well. I have to start back to work in one and a half weeks. Need to gather some more rosebuds while I may.

Hmmm...I'm feeling far from poetic lately but here's what I have so far:
