Despite the Pollyanna spewing from some folks, here's the future:

The operations engineer would tell us that this was the most automated fab in the world, where no one moves or touches the wafers at all. GlobalFoundries had built Fab 8 from the ground-up to be highly automated, and the 'vehicles' were the key part.

As one version of these escapades puts it, "It's the distribution, stupid". If capital continues to displace labor, who's going to have any moolah to buy the neato products???? Riddle me that, Batman.

Haven't been this heartbroken since, as a boy genesis: from that refrigerator AM Phillips the authoritative voice annonunces Roberto Clemente's plane has gone missing, lost; I epically recall crying like a baby - coughing up banannas ... no that midmorning when my colleague and me rattled the landlines (he was Marine guard at sea off shore Beirut possibly on the Eisenhower) skip-tracing John Lennon's assassin's address: the # you've reached is no longer in service.  All of which (no shit) makes me nervous.

So the free-speech algoritmn hath been used by Axis of ner-do-wells to prime and pry the pump whilest my buddy still still still has phantom limb syndrome from his stump???

I may be crazy but I WOKE up and hit the ground running when those BIGBADROCKETS set back down. To awaken from this scheme! And to borrow another one from Saul Bellow: Long Live Regimentation! {where's the BOLD Key on this clutch?!) Sure sure I've of got more rants than a mound of red ants!

Everyone with a functioning understanding of progress knows we will need a minimum income. Some will still excel beyond it, many will just, well, function and have enough discretionary to buy automated vacuum cleaner-bots. These are not my words, they are from Khosla, Musk, et al., so argue away you other self-appointed experts, and when you make billions, solar tiles and shoot rockets then come tell us all about it.

Clemente was it, the best ever. Never was a life cut short that would have seen more success. The way he went out was that of a true hero. He is my favorite baseball player of all time. And that is hard because it means putting him above Satchel Paige, Ruth and Aaron.

The real fun begins when the 1%ers start looking for ways to screw each other, not just each other’s wives....

I saw Satchel Paige pitch when he played for the Portland Beavers. My dad was considered the best fast pitch softball pitcher in the area up until age 52 when he was finally surpassed by some whippersnapper. I remember going twice because dad said I was going to see history and the best pitcher that ever lived.

I was gone for awhile searching that ART James comment on Barbara _____'s (the lady in Russia) fine Johnny Panic (Plath) type memoir? Short Story ghost-post wherein he details his 'honor flight' back to SEAsia.

Meanwhile my friend at Sheperd Express reports that carjacked police chases in MKE are on absolute roids. What can we expect? At risk kids are gasedupstoned peer rambunctious and read the plausibility of workin' for a livin' as nil. Fatal thrill theft rides. Some of this continuos preachin to the choir as well as lack of exercise has had irrevocable L+D consequences.  And it's no small factor of sustained irony that the Globes were off 24% YOY just when that dance troupe T-shirted the suicide hitline meant to say hotline.  I am starting to think that POTUS uses a pocket calculator!

MAD_HELL!  Perhaps the best option would be bringing Havana into the NHL. And MLB  I suspect my old Chevy convertibles are there (already).  If the desparado Russians wouldn't have been so skin-flintish with those frooked up Yugos....maybe I'm reaching too far-away-here? Least we forget Uri Gellers's fork, knife and spoon bending?                             What that I should take a burn my organ doners card?  No doubt much of the day by day report from Puerto Rico is unacceptable. Where is the MERCY? DeeLee and me are spiffing up for her debute lounge crooning of Crazy.

Good fortune and happy front-porchin' to all. Maybe I can type through my paperback, Leaving Hog City before the Olypiad is over. What's it gonna be 409 hours?!

"It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country."

if Orange Julius Caesar were serious, and we know he's not, the point of his "economic nationalism" would do just that.  note that Mr. Market's vomiting the last few days came exactly when the damn gummint reported that wages had actually edged up a couple of percent.  the slightest betterment of wages is enough for the capital class to burn down the economy.

Always glad to see this point repeated. I gave a more detailed explanation of this point in my very first post on Open Salon (copied here) in 2010.
