Body Triolet

Body memory, deep inside, hold me steady

Cast another spell, when you have the time

Stop, don’t ask, you know I’m ready

Body memory, deep inside, hold me steady

Thrilling quivers, strong and heady

Windy music of the spheres will chime

Body memory, deep inside, hold me steady

Cast another spell, when you have the time.

Smile at Mona for me, I know it will make her happy.

Well hello there! I surely hope you remember me! : )

I surely remember you! Kinda like a deep soul memory…overjoyed to see a new poem, especially about a subject dear to my heart, like body memory.

Quite a useful capability, it is.

The body is the repository of our ecstasies, the warehouse  of our retrievable  bliss, isn’t it?

Those “Thrilling quivers, strong and heady”…

So much more accurate than our mental memories, which are always in a flux of reinterpretation.

Like: the last time I saw Mona, she seemed to be accusing me of something, with that sad smile.

I best go gawk at her again.

This time I give her big wide smile, and not be...intimidated.

I feel that I have arrived at a party too late, the guests all abuzz about a person or an event that happened a little bit ago.  Something about a "lady with the mystic smile."

Body memory is crucial and way underrated by our conscious minds.  We keep trying to tell it how to do what it already perfectly understands.
