Best analysis of Trump's @Mika tweet i've seen so far is by Lawrence O'Donnell - distraction, distraction, distraction

We all know it, but dang! It's hard not to react and come to one another's defense. Many manipulators like Trump know this of course. Trump plays to one audience, and one audience only - his own. They love this stuff. Republicans will use it for cover. His true supporters will have more validation that their skewed, mean worldview is the "true" one. But, in the end, Trump's biggest reason for publicly denigrating others is to better sneak a totally unrelated deal through somewhere unnoticed, like violating the recent SCOTUS ruling on his Muslim travel ban. He's the Fagan of pick pockets, creating a commotion so that his minions can more easily separate the drawing crowd from their money undetected.

As my grandfather always said. "Never fight with pigs, drunks and fools.  You just end up down in the mud and the pigs like it."

Never stand still at the fair looking up at the Ferris wheel. Someone will pick your pocket.

You'd think Trump had a carnie background

His grandfather ran hotel/saloon/brothels in what was then gold rush territory just north of Seattle catering to the miners - cheap liquor, hot meals, a made bed, and a willing woman.  Having immigrated from Germany as a barber apprentice pre-Ellis Island before American-side restrictions were in place, he changed his name from Drumph to Trump for the allusion to gambling, which he offered because the meaning back then was to trick or fool others in a clever, decisive manner for gain. I kid you not. The grandfather initially put his meager savings into a restaurant with a partner up there which expanded into the "showcase" carnival type atmosphere fellows were drawn to like magnets. One ad stated how they had the "biggest" and the "best." Again, i kid you not. A family business meme was born. His libe of budinesscwas fast becoming illegal and regulated so he sold them and applied to return to Germany. He was refused re-partriation to Germany because German immigration claimed that Drumph/Trump had evaded paying taxes on his budiness earnings as a German citizen abroad and had also deliberately evaded Germany's military draft.  Thrice again, i kid you not.

He went to New York with his new wife and invested in real estate.

Donald is perhaps not so much unique as cloned. Some could say that he is actually a moral improvement over his grandfather and father, but he has followed almost to a "T" the Trump path. I imagibe his virw of women, money, fam

Carnivallish.

The best that i can recall learning is that Donald's grandfather ran hotel/saloon/brothels in what was then gold rush territory just north of Seattle catering to the miners - cheap liquor, hot meals, a made bed, and a willing woman.

Having immigrated from Germany as a barber apprentice before American-side restrictions were in place, he changed his name from Fredrick Drumpf to Fredrick Trump for its allusion to gambling, which he offered in the hotels he owned, the first one gotten from a gambling debt owed to him. The popular meaning of "trump" back then was to trick or fool others in a clever, decisive manner in order to come out on top. I kid you not.

The grandfather initially opened the restaurant with a partner which expanded into the "showcase" carnival type atmosphere that fellows were drawn to like magnets. His partner didn't like the changes and left, and filed a lawsuit against Trump for failure to pay. Yep. Again, i kid you not. Grandfather Trump's first restaurant/saloon ad stated how they had the "biggest" and the "best." Thrice, i kid you not. A family business meme was born. But, his line of business was fast becoming illegal and regulated so he sold them and applied to return to Germany. He was refused re-partriation to Germany because German immigration claimed that Drumpf/Trump had evaded paying taxes on his business earnings as a German citizen abroad and had also deliberately evaded Germany's military draft.  That would be four "i kid you nots."

He went to New York with his new wife and invested in real estate and started his family empire.

Donald is perhaps not so much unique as cloned. Some could say that he is actually a moral improvement over his grandfather and father, but he has lived almost to a "T" the Trump legacy began by his grandfather. I imagine his view of women, money, family, business, and government were strongly shaped by the men that went before him. Now he's getting his revenge on " intrusive" government regulation, the courts, shared civil standards, and, oh...Germany.
