Another Message From The Ghosts of Nazi Germany

(From the Speaking Into The Silence Interviews)

Hindsight is always clearer

It was not until the invasion of Poland

That we saw our biggest mistake

We thought we could reason with friends

We thought we could win back our humanity

By appealing to the compassionate side of Nazis

But then we learned that we should never have allowed

This madman to come to power in the first place

We learned that Naziism was devoid of compassion

We learned that Hitler’s followers had no hearts

We learned that absolute power was their main goal

We had the hearts, but they had the power

Nazis saw compassion as weakness

Compassionate people were vilified

The whole world was turned upside-down

Advocating for real equality and tolerance

Became the most dangerous thing a German could do

In the midst of this darkness

Silence became a survival technique

We feared members of our families, friends and neighbors

Silence became the only way to co-exist

But for those of us who were still conscious

Silence was a cancer that ate away at our souls

"We learned that absolute power was their main goal"

And this can be so multi branched that one or more quiet areas of power grabbing can gain dangerous inroads while we all are looking and crying out over louder areas of turmoil.

Thanks for posting this, Robert ~

A chilling parallel: In 1933, millions of Germans saw the right wing National Socialists simply as a bulwark against Bolshevism -- you know, those left wing parasites who'd take everything away from them and disburse it to the unmentionables. Alas, not nearly enough had read Mein Kampf -- or didn't care if they had.

(Nice to see you here again, Robert.)

Not too many read it. Too long and convoluted.
