Impeachment is the primary, if not the only, constutional defense that we, the people, have against a president who insists on acting like a king.

True enough.  This man is clearly unfit for any public office, let alone the presidency. It is clear to anyone with eyes, ears and a functioning brain that he is a corrupt, self-dealing,  two-bit hustler and failed business man ... a serial sexual assaulter and a misogynist ... a racist and a bully  ... a narcissist, a pathological liar and a megalomaniac ... a violator of any number of local, state and federal laws and a suborner of perjury ... AND – as if that wasn't enough to disqualify him and get him removed from office and hauled off to prison, he ia also a possible unwitting and probable witting asset or agent of the Russian government.

BUT ... impeachment is unlikely because leaders of the Democratic Party are happy to have Donald Trump around as a fool and foil, who will surely be defeated in 2020, IF he chooses to run again. And they certainly don't want an incumbent President Mike Pence in 2020, a Mike Pence who would likely get 100% of the Evangelical vote. To add to their perfidy, they are using the Mueller investigation as cover, but that is a red herring, in that  impeachment and removal is essentially a political act and not a criminal prosecution, despite the Founders rhetoric about "high crimes and misdemeanors".

Removal is an even more remote possibility, since Reptiles control the Senate. It isn't that many, if not most, of them don't agree with the charges I laid-out in paragraph one above; it's that they fear being defeated in a primary in 2020 by some Tea Party troglodyte – I give you Eric Cantor's defeat by Dave Brat in 2014 – even more than they fear losing their reputation (whatever's left of it) and their mortal souls. But they are behaving very foolishly, because while they may avoid defeat in a Republican primary, they are dramatically increasing their chances of defeat in a general election – see Dave Brat in 2018.

I do not know for sure if  voting trumps impeachment as far removal of stains on dirty shorts goes. How ever the removal of this  god sent skid mark occurs, it does not alter the hygienic practices of the nation.

A lot of reimagining the process by which the American psyche is crafted, commanded, and controlled need be initiated in daylight. The myths and legends of greatness need to be forever tempered with a factual telling, then and only then can we become closer to good then we almost were before American Fascism became the NWO.

@TC;Impeachment proceedings would open the door to Congressional investigations and eventual articles of impeachment...The subpoenas would come down like  atorrential rainfall...The Republican prospect of blurring the Mueller Report would be nullified as Mueller and staff would be called to investigatory impeachment hearings to testify as to its contents....

The critical issue would be the strategic and tactical timing of the move to initiate the process...

@RBJ; "A lot of reimagining the process by which the American psyche is crafted, commanded, and controlled need be initiated in daylight."

.....and be sustained over several generations...

Difficult, but not impossible....It must be done.....

Before we stop him we may have to slow him down. In other words, impeachment may have to be preceded by impearment.

@Kosh; Nancy Pelosi, as the embodiment and personification of congressional impairment of executive excesses, will be his nemesis for the next two years....

Maui, thanks for the link and shame on the KY SoS: "Kentucky’s Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes responded to the videos and said the actions do not represent the values of the state. No, the values of the state of Kentucky are represented, literally, by Mitch "MIA" McConnell any Ayn Rand Paul.

"The only, constitutional defense that we, the people, have against a president who insists on acting like a king" is effectively non-existent when either chamber of the u.s. legislature is content to have a president who insists on acting like a king.  If it were that We the People had the right to remove a president who insisted on governing like a king we would have a direct, participatory democracy, a popular democracy instead of a representative democracy.  This nation has devolved from a republic allegedly of, by and for We the People to be what it is today: a corporatist, fascist state masquerading as a potential democracy of, by and the people.
