This morning in the Opium Den, Emily, Julie, Veronica and I chatted about fashion and fashion finds with a fun idea of hitting a resale shop to see what we could get for around 10 dollars. There must have been something in the air cause there were cute clothes on the racks.

My bootie:

Sun colored silky scarf, under 2.

Sunny Leigh blouse, under 3.

Gray skirt, 3.

Total, $7.88 for a cute new work outfit. I'm not a scarf person, I hope I can pull it off.

Can't wait to see the pic of you in your full thrift shop glory... may I suggest splurging for some high heels and black nylons with seams... you'll look like you stepped off the train in Paris.

You blew this one out the water, girlie! I spent $14 and got a pair of Levis and a Three Dot white t shirt. I need to visit your store!

when I came on to OurS this morning, I noticed that chat and thought -- fun!

Cool to see your finds -- love that skirt, especially.

The scarf is a great addition, I'm jealous you can wear yellow, I'll bet it's great with your hair color!   : )

JT, I'm wary of the color, I don't think it looks good against my skin but it could work as a belt.

This was my first visit to this store! I will go back!

Just float that yellow scarf.  Work it and love it as we all need some of its sunny rays.  Great finds!

I have a whole book (well, small but still...) on how to use scarves.  I love the store, in my closet...but wearing them bulks me up where I don't need it and they don't stay in place and...  I'd have bought that one, tho. Beautiful.  Probably doesn't go with anybody's skin tone.

My shopping these days is the dump ("re-use centre", a bldg where people put and take), so I can outdo you in price w.o. even trying.  Here's my latest score.  Not for everyone...maybe not for me...but...

Maybe the Peruvian hat, of which you can see a bit at the upper rt. corner, would go with this...

Myriad -- wowza on that jacket!   I kind of like it a lot - score !  Maybe with all black (but I am one of those who wears black. a lot.)...or some other monochromatic background....or a Peruvian hat  : )

Jenny, not good with your skin?  Good against your hair, for sure. Belt? Yes!  Or regular scarf, but against a jacket color...

I love thrift shopping. I tend to go for boring and utilitarian though. Usually in black...or velvet. I also tend to buy decent-looking old ballgowns, etc for the fabric (to make quilts) and once even noticed one that actually fit so I got a little crazy, put up my hair, put on pearls, and cooked dinner in that strapless number -- my goofiest "welcome home honey!" so far -- but fun.  I wish I had a photo of Husband's face when he walked in the door  : )

I want in! Wearing a $2.99 Eddie Bauer, cable knit cardigan as I type.

If only I could shop like this every week, I would shop every week!
