A Distant Memory

So many things I should have done

Just look at me I’m on the run,

Where is my little sugar plumb?

Now life’s no longer any fun,

Where did all the laughter go?

Feeling cold like I’m stuck in snow

Where did the love I once had go?

Lost in this wicked world of woe,

Just tell me where I can run

I do believe I’ve come undone

Just a fool living under the sun

Caught within the web I’ve spun,

All these things that came back to me

I’ve been convicted in the first degree

Once I tried to laugh and be free

It’s all a distant memory,

So many things I should have done

Just look at me I’m on the run,

Where is my little sugar plumb?

Now life’s no longer any fun,

Just searching for a ray of sun

I never meant to hurt anyone

I don’t like the way this world is run

Now I’m living under the gun,

There’s an echo to my cry

Stabbed in the back by another lie

Is it just Karma over you and I?

There’s a raven in the corner of my eye,

Love will be gained love will be lost

But at what emotional cost?

In a stormy sea my fate was tossed

Forgotten like the taste of your lip gloss,

So many things I should have done

Just look at me I’m on the run,

Where is my little sugar plumb?

Now life’s no longer any fun,
