2 Sentences -- Accepting a Hopeless Animalism

Lincoln's now long subverted legacy chooses, in our era, a political tribalism that not only accedes to but embraces depravity, dismisses pedophilia. The broader culture itself appears to have accepted a perverse understanding of men that we are incapable of anything better than a hopeless animalism, perpetuating a history of, fostering a future of, a politics of brutality against women and girls.

I'm the least political of all of you and I got it.

Our culture of fame not only endorses the worst of these miscreants with trophies and gazillions, it also paints us all with the same brush.

I've been highly appreciative of the push back over Harvey Weinstein. He was powerful enough to hold all this at bay for decades and now we find the strength in numbers to speak up.

...and it's hardly just women and girls who suffer from predators, thanks to Kevin Spacey, we all now know if some didn't before - and thank goodness these predators aren't still able to hide behind the Hollywood curtain anymore. I so hope the light shines on the rest of the powerful predators. soon.

And I think most of us know there are good and decent men in the world, more than not, even.... it's just these creeps are so front and center at the moment it's hard not to get lumped in under the umbrella. And *that* happens with every group, every broad sweep, every generalization -- in the name of getting rid of the rot that must be stopped.
