Reparations due: us is not US, US is not U.S.

Reparations due: us is not US, US is not U.S.

We, all of us humans, who are alive on Earth are us.  Some among us believe they are exceptional, they are US.  To be of US is to believe one is entitled to privileges and immunities not deserving of the vast majority of the rest of us.  Some of us live in the U.S., in the United States.  Most of us  do not live there but a lot of US does.

Just who is, just what is meant by US, is easier to get a handle on, easier to identify by citing examples of their historical, current and predictable illogical reasoning and pathetically deceptive rhetoric.

In a game of cards with a confidence man the first con is the donecon: “Here mademoiselle, let’s play with my deck.”

Such are reparations due by US to Humanity long overdue for crimes past, present and righteoUSlie indeed genocidally perpetrated on Earth before i was born and ever since. It’s insane. It’s criminal. It’s morally, ethically and suicidally indefensible.

One unelected terrorUSt$ official was recorded yesterday saying in effect: "WE DEMAND CUBA PAY NOW REPARATIONS TO THE U.S. TREASURY."

Time it is that stinks well past its expiration date that genocidal reparations are overdue be paid by US terrorUSt$ to Humanity destroyed homelands in my lifetime: the Pacific rim and its islands, the Caribbean Basin, Palestine, Korea, Vietnam, Africa, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Central America, South America, the Pacific rim and its islands, central Europe...

The problem with Trump's base is that they view their freedom as a proprietary commodity that belongs to a chosen few and as such have no sense of responsibility re the protection of the freedom of others....

Indeed they don't see 'others' as deserving to share in the freedoms they hold near and dear to and for themselves....

The others, they reason, don't belong and since they don't belong they do not have a real stake in the rights and freedoms that only 'real Americans' can claim and enjoy as their own...

Reparations ? Let us not forget they were promised, then betrayed, 40 acres my eye.

So, we sort of agree yet again, though you may not see our Homelands, which I luckily sleep on many nights of the year, the same way- I continue to try and assist all Kanaka in their seemingly never ending quest for a return to Ahupuaʻa.

For those stuck on the Madland, to deny Slavery is your bane. Haole household worth is 150 times that of the African American family, and no sane person can claim it was because they didn't work hard enough- they built the Country !

As for those First Nation peoples, how many times must they have been removed until their current state of near invisibility ?

Trump and Trump's base are the epitome, the dying therefore all the more dangerous, core of white legUSy privilege.  They cannot be shamed, intimidated or reasoned with... they are devolving, expiring but not whithering, they literally want US to fight to the death, taking the rest of us on the planet with them if they don't get their way and if we fail to have anticipated the degree to which US is prepared to use all and every means to not just maintain but by definition destroy to rule over all, or simply destroy all.

Ron, exactly, "...they view their freedom as a proprietary commodity that belongs to a chosen few".  That's a fact, that's how they view, how US views it.  They got the most guns, ammo and incentive to view it that way and to keep their view unobstructed by reality, by others' suffering the calloUSness of terrorUSt$ capitalism instead of indulging in it.

Maui, why wouldn't i see Hawaii that way?  I see Hawaii like i much as I see Papua, Taiwan, Palestine:  occupied territory.

Hence the use of the word may. However the plight of Hawaiians, and now more than ever it is about not a homestead but any roof to sit under as the price is now a million and up regardless, nonetheless, the focus for those in the USA itself must be on African Americans and First Nation people. Until the stain of their treatment, so horrific the haole cannot even open their eyes to face it, is overcome AmeriKKKa will always fly the flag with three k's.

Seems like it would greatly help "those in the USA itself" if those in Hawaii can show how to go about overcoming "the stain of their treatment".  It should be easier to secure justice on a tropical island than on a continent.

Hmmm, thought you were a bit closer to this. I would say, while a long way from perfect, that we actually GIVE LESSONS to the mainland. Our white people freely admit their sins, the first step at redemption. And, though you have thrown some, or maybe I am projecting?, shade on what we have done from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, the Homes Commission Act itself, OHA, and the many splinter groups from the Kanaheles on up, or down if you prefer, we have absolutely done better than any other group on balance in recovering what was lost.

That said, it remains that the so called Missionaries "came to do good" and instead did very well ...

US vs. us, a nice play with U.S.  " ...literally want US to fight to the death, taking the rest of us on the planet with them"

My experience is that US wants us to fight to the death for them and theirs while they enjoy their luxuries.

Reparations to whom?  There are so many who are owed.
