I just got home, left my comment there then noticed your post. I'm moving on with my day, now. Lots of fingers get pointed around here.... and I am not leaving myself out, although I prefer not to be one of those types.... I spontaneously replied then left the house. Hours later/Now, I might have been more restrained and skipped my comment ....  but maybe not. I get really tired of how often Amy is blamed for everything on this site even when it's been a group effort usually, and even when she is minding her own business like today, posting a great post.

Sorry, didn't make it into one sentence...

Ron, I'm sure you are very familiar with "stealth haters" who say they believe in human rights, but are covertly thinking they are unfair to white/straight/male people and I'm equally sure you know AKA is one of them.

P.S.  (and yeah, I'm not so good with one sentence things either, Anna!  LOL) What interests me is how a post about a female African-American, who happens to be a lesbian, becoming Mayor of Chicago is "believed" to be part of "destroying this site".

Based upon his comment, which I deleted because it was clearly homophobic, I don't know if he ALSO has racist and misogynistic tendencies, but he clearly has homophobic ones.

I convinced that Amy and I have been joined at the hip by those who wish to assign blame for destruction of the site...

I will stand with Amy 100% when she is exercising her right to express herself.

If that is destructive, then "Houston, we have a problem"...

Ron, I miss the artists and creative types that used to congregate here, but it would be silly to long for a time now gone rather than find the good in what is, now.

I, for one, have appreciated the information and perspective you and Amy both bring as well as anyone else bringing things to the table that further discussion. I hope I've brought something to the table sometimes, too.

I don't always agree or comment on everything I read but I do appreciate it when my world of understanding is expanded, even/especially when it's a glimmer into an understanding behind a different opinion than mine.

Ron,

You've become a silly old fool. You didn't "wax" my ass. That's your inflated ego crowing.

Both you and Amy have spouted your religious bigotry here ad infinitum. You'll deny it and then ask me to traipse about and provide proof, as if you have a white wig and a black robe I'd better heed. It bothers me you cannot see the duplicity but it really shouldn't matter to me. Where have the smart, enjoyable people gone? Tom Cordle was recently here. Foolish Monkey departed about a year ago. The two of you attacked in some form or another relentlessly.

And FFS Ron, I have never thought that Amy shouldn't be able to express herself. I just despise what she has to express more often than not. It's the not so clever false constructions that really stand out.

Anna is a good soul and yes Anna, I was steamed this morning. I do agree with you here in your synopsis: "I don't always agree or comment on everything I read but I do appreciate it when my world of understanding is expanded, even/especially when it's a glimmer into an understanding behind a different opinion than mine."

I have learned some from both Ron and Amy too.

Amy, You can't read and assimilate worth a plugged nickel. It wasn't the African-American female winning an election today that bothered me. It was glowing about something that you believed absolutely should not happen, ( with which I agreed) but then doing it yourself. Double standards are at the core of what I dislike about your postings.

1) Name calling, again...

)2) Where's the post?

"Both you and Amy have spouted your religious bigotry here ad infinitum."

Please provide a citation and link to that which may be characterized as 'religious bigotry' on my part....

I don't need a wig and a robe for that...However,  you do need to be able to support or back your accusations up.

If people left here because I refused to accept or acknowledge wholesale bullshit as fact or truth and called them on it with legitimate demands for citations and sources that's on them not me...

The idea that white people would discuss the black experience and become annoyed, or "tired", when the only black man present demands accuracy, veracity,  legitimacy, authenticity, etc in the form of citations and links, is disingenuous and dishonest.

Or, to ut it another way, that's white privilege...

By the way AKA you didn't acknowledge or apologize for your erroneous attempt to demean and condescend re my spelling when the mistake was entirely yours...

Or, do you find it tiresome to contemplate having to admit that you were wrong, and that you got your ass waxed on the matter...

No apology to you Ron, for anything.

There's a huge difference between "preferred" and "correct"...

The fact that you won't apologize for your attempt to demean, belittle, and condescend speaks volumes about who you are and the nature of you character...

My condolences to your parents and your teachers.
