Yet another ode to protecting the rich from the poor huddled masses. Football owners, who on the whole get stadiums paid for by taxpayers to begin with, are being discriminated against by the states' tax policies. Move to Red states where the governments don't provide education, healthcare, clean water, clean air to the bulk of their citizens. Poor football owners.

Here's the tale from Fox Sports; not the left-wing rabble you might expect to talk about the issue.

It's worth noting that moving high capital sports to Red states doesn't work. We already know how that ends up. NASCAR has been failing for some time, especially since the Great Recession. It's just that good ole boys just can't pay the freight to attend. And watching roundy-round cars until one crashes isn't as much fun since there aren't so many wrecks and few die; any more.

You've hit the nail on the head...

The people who pay the price of admission to see a NASCAR race, want to be first hand witnesses of high speed crashes and fires preferably of the fatal variety...

The races are not what they used to be and the price of admission is much too high for the average red neck yokel...

They're watching the daily crash and burn that is the current board of fare in the West Wing of the White House...

That's why Faux News is out performing Fox Sports in the ratings game...

Watching the crash and burn in the White House on TV is a whole lot cheaper than hoping for some crash and burn at the track....

and the explosions are more consequential.

I’m wondering if the NFL owners figure there’s more money to be made in sky boxes than in general seating. If that’s the case, I understand completely why NFL stadiums get tax breaks: they’re pushed through by the wealthy so that taxpayers pick up most of the tab for their sky boxes.

This theory of k/s just above is why I have not for decades given a damn about professional sports.

My life is much more interesting and busy without any need to be up to speed on the win/loss records of government approved and subsidized entertainment.

Rob, aside from having the Supreme Court stacked for the Rich I have a seemingly impossible task of reasoning that there remains unprotected any facet of this omniscient corporatist economy, its political system, its government, its covert and overt foreign policy, its shameless zionausea centric propaganda and cultural denial of its own genocide based wealth, power, privilege... aside from that facet can we say fascist fact, that observation, can there possibly be a leak for truth much less justice through which to penetrate the otherwise impermeable membrane of corporatist zionism?

perhaps oddly, college sports (at least the sort that ends up on the TeeVee) have the same effect on me.  the current debate of whether to pay them, esp. B-ball players, doesn't address the real issue:  college sports are self-contained (relative to academia) money making minor leagues.  the Big Time schools are mostly state (aka, taxpayer supported) universities.  more important to fund the football teams than provide real education for all, clean water, healthcare and such.
