I tend to think s/he ought to reveal and then resign...his/her present course further undermines the foundations of functional government...no matter how good this may feel now, that feeling will not last...and we had worked out much of what s/he reports.

I get why the NYT did what it did and can pretty well condone its decision; but not so much the method of the writer (one or more).

His/her non-reveal is itself a sad cave to the dysfunction, the madness the reveal deplores.

I've been painting the porch today, avoiding the screen except for breaks and email.

It gave me time to think, and I too agree that the source should step up and thereby add to the credibility of the statements. With the 4th estate under a constant barrage it is even more imperative.

As for this being like the Nixon era, I think it is not. The horrendous loss of life foisted upon the world by the Nixon/Kissinger end run could pale in comparison with the damage yet that this POTUS and his loyal minions would be able to wreak.

He must be stopped by any legal means possible.

Gotta run...the brush is getting stiff while I type.

I agree with Kosh here. This article  was yet another corroborating bit of evidence for many of the recent books about this dysfunctional administration. There have been many pieces written over the years where authors have not been revealed. This is not a new thing. Sometimes identities need to be protected from retaliation.
