I so enjoy/ed having you post here - saw a painting of you as George Washington, yesterday? but was on the way to the oral surgeon with a husband in tooth agony and didn't have time to comment. I loved it!

I wish you knew how much I appreciate you and your input and posts and paintings here and how disappointing it is to sign on this morning and you are no longer here.

Most others who have moved on haven't bothered me so much, it was time, but you I've always looked forward to your posts. I do respect, though, that clearly, you think it is time, too.

Take care out there in the world. I hope you decide to come back but if not, so be it.

As for me, I'll be back after our week off, dancing at a huge hippie fest that's gone on for over 50 years, off in the mini-forest, under a canopy of trees, a get away we haven't participated in in over two decades.

Getting back to our dancing roots - while all our sons take over the homestead, here.

Best to you and big hugs, dear one.

xoxo  Anna

Okay, looked for some brilliant insightful quote to add and.... nada. but this one seemed most like my thoughts and feelings today, and what seems to be disappearing in the world, everywhere (hence our deciding to head to the hippie fest stuffed with wonderful weird people and music and dance and sculptors and painters and artists and freaks).

Be well ~

“Blessed are the weird people:
poets, misfits, writers
mystics, painters, troubadours
for they teach us to see the world through different eyes.”

hey Anna,

Have fun at the fair. We went last year. I hadn't been there in nearly 40 years. It was a lot of fun. My barber is about 28 and she has been there every year.

I like the quote you provided.

The ranks are thinning.

I didn’t know she’d left until I read this. I could see she was upset by something but I couldn’t exactly figure out what. When she redid her post, she took the paintings down.

This isn’t good. FM was awfully central to what life is left here.

If this is what made her leave, we all have a problem here...

My last comment on here last post:

I have nothing but the utmost respect for the effort any artist puts into his/her work...

My comment(s) weren't about your work at all...

My first comment was a tongue in cheek play off of the koshersalaami comment about an FM as President series...

My second comment was in response to your comment re the dynamics of exchanges here:

"However, we, each of us, must have skins thick enough to not require that we tiptoe around one another on eggshells...

How boring and dull would it be if we did nothing more than approve and echo?"

Again not on topic (your paintings), but a general observation about the overall give and take here...

My apologies for getting further afield than you would like...

Re your work, all quite interesting and evocative....

Thanks for sharing them....

BTW, It has been opined that the Mona Lisa is a DaVinci selfie in drag, which is what I sort of had in mind when I said you as Obama would be a masterpiece by default...

It seems that you missed the intended humor, and I've always felt that if something has to be explained, then it can't be humorous...

Again my apologies....

"Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa is arguably the most famous portrait in the world, but now some are speculating that the woman with the inscrutable smile may not be a woman after all. They are suggesting that the Mona Lisa may be a self-portrait, da Vinci in drag."

https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/leonardo-da-vincis-mona-lisa-self-portra...

"The artist Susan Dorothea White has interpreted the masculine proportions of Mona Lisa's cranial architecture in her anatomical artworks Anatomy of a Smile: Mona's Bones (2002) and Mona Masticating(2006).[28] Lillian Schwartz of Bell Labssuggests that the Mona Lisa is actually a self-portrait. She supports this theory with the results of a digital analysis of the facial features of the woman in the painting and those of the famous Portrait of a Man in Red Chalk."

@Kosh; "FM was awfully central to what life is left here."

Given our numbers and our dynamics, would you care to identify someone who isn't "awfully central to what life is left here."?

Some are more active than others and some communicate in more directions than others. FM talked to most people here and maintained very disparate friendships. I’m not close to as many people here as she was.

She also participated across the board regardless of the subject matter. That’s not universal either.

Assuming this isn’t all a technical glitch of some sort. I’m speaking about her in past tense because I’m assuming this was deliberate. I”m kind of surprised I didn’t get a PM.

She and I disagreed on some matters but showed respect for each other's creative endeavors. I discussed the precipitating events with her up until this early a.m., encouraging a change of mind.

I was not successful.

I would not expect to see her return.

@AKA; "I discussed the precipitating events with her up until this early a.m., encouraging a change of mind."

Just exactly were the "precipitating events"? I'm sure that many here are curious and would like to know why she felt compelled to flounce....
