Now and forever
a bloodline branch of among the oldest, most powerful Western world-wide empires will be, in part, African. That's worth quite a bit, a royal family opting to disassemble in a day some ages-old rigid and toxic stratification.

(And, please:  it's hardly as if the $42M some on the congenitally-dour far Left whine about were thieved from their own pet projects.)

We'll just disagree then, Monkey.

From what they represent today to what they mean to the future to how genuine their actions are, for me, speaking of William and Harry.

....and getting into the long history of the monarchy and its pillaging and excesses is beyond my interest in discussion today - even if I did study it far more than I ever suspected I would in college - other than they clearly knew they needed to diversify their incestuous blood, all those cousins marrying over the generations - some of those European royals have been almost literally brainless. yikes.

Monkey, I found myself laughing while in the garden today that I'd be defending the royals at all - especially after having studied British and then European royal history so much (all pretty much mingled, anyway) back in the day - when I just have a fondness for Diana's sons, really. I'm proud of their evolvement over the years (knock on wood) and glad for their happiness. Also, I have hope for them, and their efforts moving forward, in ways I'm not seeing or caring or even knowing about in the kids of other super wealthy, either, which may or may not matter much...

I had fun getting up to see the new royal getting hitched. What a beautiful woman Ms. Markle is, and their joy was infectious this weekend, just what I was ready for  : )

....and of course I think Ms Markle was an excellent choice for Harry - he needed her more than she him, in many ways. The stuffy old royals really need her, too. I hope they have an excellent future together, and the Duchess is able to showcase her already known savvy and talents in ways the world really needs. She already has been transformative just by being herself and marrying in, but if she is able to be as philanthropically influential as she and they, she and Harry, are wanting to be, well, that could be truly transformative. We can only wait and see...

At first this was going to be a comment . Then, I decided to post it on its own merits...
