Ode to the Cold (stolen from j.p. hart)

dear j,p.,

one of my students from last semester knows the artist who tags using the ‘hart’ font from my last post. These are examples of the current work of that artist. The tags on the bus stop signs are on the same block, one for each direction

such that

If you are driving/riding, the eyes catch yours as you travel up or down the avenue.

This bus stop shelter tag is near downtown.

The tag on the ‘road work’ sign was a little different; you need a reason to turn down that street. Lucky me.

I like how what appears to be a halo shape from earlier echoes in these...

Anyway,

I stole, blatantly and without regret
from a comment you made earlier.

I leave what’s left
here on your step.

Ode to the Cold (and to rita and cap’n will and to nana)

Returned rusty
Not the good ol’ days of sights
Sounds, far away

Pool cues, beers, the blues
Fake panels over most walls
Only white heads, some dead, most alive, hung in halls

More stars than Los Cruces heaven
Falling spreading flat light
On dust on ice
On lilacs with child

I guess the sound of a dove on a telephone wire would be a haiku?

Missing comment. Catch 22, Your collaboration is necessary for the haiku to work

How does sound of dove

Sitting on a wire differ

From sound on the ground?
