One week from today is the memorial for Steve. My hope/plan is this be a celebration of his life. The theme is "Jazz Funeral" ish, or as ish as I can make it. It will be here at the house trig (re)built.

I would LOVE to know your favorite tr ig saying, trigism, glimpse into the man known as tr ig, stories and the like that I can read aloud or at least print out. Much appreciation.

The above is another video I found of him. Today a friend stopped by and helped me start putting together a scrapbook, so that and I keep listening to him sing. I love to hear his voice and see him animated. Sometimes I shock myself with that image of him in the chair and the lifeless face as I tried to revive him.

My bathroom is back together and very clean. People keep asking me what they can do to help, and I have no answers. I don't know what I don't know, so if something gets missed for the memorial, I guess it's oh well.

Me and the pup will head to Colorado in a couple of weeks. He's a great traveling partner. Won't stay long, but will see my girl and grandson. Maybe hike the Manitou Incline for the 3rd time. I sprinkle some ashes into the wind.

Oh, picked up his ashes today. That was hard.

Jenny, all my best to you and yours as you celebrate the life and passage of your beloved.  Here's another John Prine song that I think he might have enjoyed:

I wish I knew what to tell you. Your pain leaps off the page. The memorial will give you something to do for Steve. That's a good thing. Don't obsess over what you miss - no one with a quarter of a brain will expect you to get everything right at the moment, and Steve sure as a Hell wouldn't. Frankly, if anyone close has expectations, put them to work on them.

Excuse me that I laughed a little at Steve singing “I am an old woman”, with his stubble, straw hat and sunglasses, the picture of testosterone.

It must have been awful, finding him. I can’t even imagine.

You'll do this. You already are.

I knew what song it was from the chords before he started singing, and there's only two chords (repeated).

Thinking of you today. I know this is a tough week.

Sending positive energy and all the love I can your way.

Oh Jenny, that video you put up yesterday I'm just seeing. Oh man.... damn it, Steve, we need you back.

I don't know what to offer for tr ig-isms other than the comment I put up on nan's "Good bye Brother" about when we met you two and the ensuing trip to the co-op with little girl in cat mask saying Meow at me.... I've been wrestling back and forth with, *Did* she say "Don't be sad?" or did she say "Why are you sad?" over and over... while realizing I'm on a wheel, and it really didn't/doesn't matter at all which one she said. The "Meow" was there, it was heard...

so much sorrow for you, Jenny, thinking of you so much. And frankly, so much sorrow for tr ig, too, at so many years he'll miss being here and with you. He wanted Forever with you, that was very clear.

The other offering is pretty much all of the comment thread on my 4th of July post where Steve's comments and memories of traveling out here, and his clear happiness and contentment that only finding you brought forth.... that comment thread is beautiful to me and if anything there seems appropriate for you to use, you're more than welcome, of course. His last comment especially, if I'm remembering correctly, was his appreciation for his life right now.

(Another) big hug to you ~

It really was a good conversation on that thread, reading all the reality ties and hearing the voices.  Was so looking forward to reading more.

Thank you all. I did print off several blogs and excerpts from this thread, I printed them into booklets with a cover sheet. I think it will be a house full tomorrow and of course the forecast is HOT AS HELL. So! It will be an intimate event since we'll be close enough to smell each other. I told Steve he needs to help me out here and bring Sunday's cooler weather here 12 hours sooner. We shall see if he comes through.

I've been focusing on getting through tomorrow knowing the decompression phase will begin shortly there after. No idea what to expect. The sun will rise no doubt.

I'll make sure i share some pics, video and such with you all. Peace out.
