About this time two years ago my girlfriend found a kitten while walking Jack, our dog. To hear her tell, it was lying in deepish grass in a school yard, or church, near the road, far from where any responsible kitten should have been at that age in the ghetto.

I was on the front porch when Asia returned from the walk as I often was in the torpid summer o'15. She opened her hand and there was this moist mottled mess, no more than four inches, covered in fleas, eyes yet glued shut.

We didn't want a cat, but what do you do? Wash it twice, gently, with Dawn dish soap, cur out the flea bodies, put it on half and half via eyedropper and massage it's eyelids, that's what.

Now, she's yet a teenager but stays out all night, returns in the morning with no good explanation, demands high-end cat pate' and naps adorable but draws blood if you rub her wrong. She's the coolest: we call her Luna and I took these pictures this afternoon.

Baby is what I call her actually, mostly. Usually, if I open the iPhone she is coy and resists, but today she modeled for me. Which might make me a pervert, I know. Meow and Hiss.

And these, today's flowers and bee. The lily has been very slow to show. There are like thirteen of them blooming or near to it. Not knowing even what color they were, as it was a late fall random bulb planting and we forgot, well, quite happy with these magnificents newly sprung, and oh the odour!

The bee flower below and the one atop are simple marigolds. So as to not forget how amazing simple can be, I lean in close in the evenings, quiet my mind, and pray that I don't.

The bee itself is a bumble, of which we seem to have aplenty, but I can't remember the last time I saw a regular bee. Thanks Monsanto, Fukushima Daichi, Ted Cruz, et cetera.

while walking Jack, our dog...

It's a damn shame that you have to explain that.  LOL

As for cats...  this pretty much sums up my opinion of cats...

Kerouac Jack, Jackson Tan, Jack Sprat can eat no fat [as if]. Jack the Ripper, Andrew JACKson and many more .. he's a simple boy

I so suppose I'm more of a cat person though. Cats get me. There was a cat named Ratskull that used to guide us on winter walks. On acid. To truly understand a cat takes acid Amy. Try acid and a cat guided walk. Get back with me.

Your cat looks like it's found bliss in your home with you guys.... I love cats. They get me, too. I've had to learn to love dogs... as, well, hubs is a dog person.... not a dog, but a dog person, so I've grown fond... but they're so needy. so eager.

I like a bit of aloofness in my housemates.

Your yard's looking abundant! Homeownership (well, the illusion of it anyway) is a different world, isn't it? Everything's an investment suddenly.... just in from the gardening hours, here. Supposed to be near 100 today so I got out really early today - now I'm all sweaty and tired, it feels like 3pm already and it's.... f***.

8. a.m. ..... geez.

That the track team tends to run uphill past my garden every morning, as do the military guys, as does the football team, and the cheer team as well .... has absolutely *nothing* to do with my early morning penchant for dashing outside and 'gardening.'   ; )

Lvna!! She looks like she has some Siamese lineage. Is she noisy?  She's trained you good–cat pate.

The pic of the bee perfectly centered on the marigold is darn near perfect.

Phyliss calls Luna a "torti point" which I'd never heard before. Maybe it means sort of Siamese.

Thanks y'all for stopping and looking. I appreciate the ongoing camaraderie over the years which is why I still make attempts at blogging even when I don't feel like writing. Rather, I spend the days on stupid yet profitable decks (doing one of the super-cools right now .. almosta done), and evenings mostly outside, because the good outdoor season is too short and who knows if there'll be a next one. I actually do still constantly write in my head but just can't sit down to make a proper go of it. But, that may change as I have a layoff planned. It's fairly brutally hot out, and I'm old and less heat tolerant by the day. But oh the evenings, the gardens, the bird and bee.

Meow. Thanks again.

I Liked this post yesterday because the flowers are lovely, but then Unliked it because your title implies there's a kitten, flower and bee all in one photo when there really isn't.
