I don't mean to scare you guys, but have you been following the news on North Korea?

Just to let you know what's going on:

President Trump has telephoned the Chinese leadership over North Korea. We don't know the contents of the call. Here's what we do know:

There's a US Navy strike force on its way to the Western Pacific. North Korea has promised nuclear retaliation for a show of force.

China stopped importing North Korean coal last week. That represents a major chunk of North Korea's exports.

China now has 150,000 troops on the North Korean border.

North Korea has promised something big on an annual national celebration called Day of the Sun, coming up this month.

And last but Way Not Least:

North Korea has ordered the immediate evacuation of about a quarter of Pyongyang's population. Foreign reporters have been told not to bring cellphones.

Five Coca Colas to the first to accurately translate Dong Fang Hong.

By the Way   Coke is far more popular in the PRC than Pepsi. Ten cases of Coca Cola to the first to translate Ke-Ke Ke Le  (Coca Cola transliterated).

I've been following it for a few days.  I'm not sure what he's supposed to do or not supposed to do.  two lunatics in a showdown.  I don't know kosh - do we ignore what that little shit is doing?  he's been ramping up his tests.  so do we support what our big shit is setting up?  I'm telling you - we're all, the entire world - we're between a rock and a hard place.

the chinese own a good bit of our debt so we're valuable to them in terms of being a market they can sell in and keep their economy afloat, I tend to think the chinese are with us, entirely okay with eliminating that horrible fat man who starves and tortures his people.  it would open up that market.  the world is always looking for markets and natural resources to exploit.  no, I don't want to see north korea attacked but I think north korea is stupidly provoking a very erratic president and a nation that's self protective and not in the least laissez faire about security.

oh and south korea is a bit of a hot mess so they need border protection particularly with an unpopular government.  I think the little fat man may have bitten off more of the world than he can chew.

"If Trump gets it in his head that the best way to create a distraction and draw attention away from his, and his administration's, ties to, and involvements with,  Russian money, is to start a war with either North Korea or Syria, heaven help us all."

I don't suppose anybody remembers where this came from...

Jonathan Wolfman,

I believe Dong Fang Hong means " Bite Me Where It Hurts".

 Do I win?

Doc Vega, probably.

By the way, there's more recent news:

Some of the Chinese press is becoming critical of North Korea

and

Japanese warships have joined the American fleet headed toward Korea. This is the first international use of the Japanese. Ilitary since 1945.
