"Harvey Milk Airport," ya gotta love it.

I do. I love the idea of an airport named after Harvey Milk, the 70s gay activist turned star of his own Hollywood flick. Milk was the first openly gay elected supervisor in San Francisco. In 1978, in one of the more tragic moments of the city’s history, he and Mayor George Moscone were murdered by former Supervisor Dan White.

Good riddance to the pope and the church

It’s hard to imagine that people still believe in the Catholic Church. 

A quick glance at its history should be enough to convince anyone that any good the institution may have done over the years has been far outweighed by the atrocities, including the Inquisitions, the pogroms, the stealing of the lands of indigenous peoples, and the slaughtering of heretics, Jews, witches and others.

Are gay bars going extinct?

Gay bars in San Francisco are going extinct. At least according to recent articles in the press, which reports that these establishments are fewer in number than they used to be. In some cases, owners are preferring to have mixed clientele -- queer and straight -- rather than cater to one or the other.

I don't believe in Valentine's Day

Not because I don’t think love is cool. Who could hate love? Except when it causes people to abuse others or stalk them incessantly. Or it makes them get all domineering and possessive. Like those scary characters on the soap operas and telenovelas.
