White Trash (OS Archives 2013) ~ part three, more comments ~

You've been wonderfully diligent, Ms EP.



It's a great post & I've nothing to add save the one "white trash" family in the neighbourhood where I grew up contained 3 of my best friends.

Their dad ( Bullfrog ) raced pigeons & their mom babysat all over the place despite having had 11 of her own.



These were serious quality people, but their vege garden was out…

White Trash (OS Archives 2013) ~ part 1, the post ~

Stepping outside into the early morning light most days this summer, I'd sleepily pick up the garden hose and begin the morning watering. In the dry heat of our arid summers, the Sun's rays beam like lasers without the blanket of humidity to diffuse them; the winds sear and plants suffer in the seemingly endless high heat. I've always preferred watering my gardens by hand and in our new front yard garden, the only spot for sun all day, this year was no exception.

Bills to Stop Congressional Paychecks During Shutdowns Exist

Because I was curious about existing legislation that would put a stop to Congressional paychecks during any government shutdown, I googled.

Turns out a bill was introduced on Saturday, 26 September 2013, by Rep. Pete Gallego (D-TX) for this very thing. Back in January 2013, Senator Barbara Boxer introduced legislation as well to stop Congress's paychecks along with all other governmental entities affected in the event…
