Gordon’s Preliminary Ticket Pick for Election 2016
I talk only about the solely relevant Republican Party ticket. The horse that the Democrat Party chose to ride in on is clearly headed speedily for the glue factory. The aging socialist back-up is equally clearly unelectable, and I don’t think that even when pushed to the wall by the failure of alternatives, the Dems would be dim enough to go for Joe Biden, a man who has given rise to more late-night jokes than even…Continue

Law and Disorder
The latest media drool focuses on a young child that crashed the police barricades in D.C. to get a papal hug. It seems that the event had been planned like the Normandy Landing by a pro-illegal immigrant group. Because it involves the Pope and an innocent child, everyone coos, and no attention is paid to the morbid premise of the entire exercise.
To use a child as a political prop to engage in a breach of the peace is totally reprehensible. The…Continue
Score One for Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College was not listed on a recent Department of Education “scorecard,” which students use to decide what college to attend. The College claims that the reason is that it does not keep records of the racial status of its students, a policy that of course drives the quota-crazies in the Obama Administration absolutely nuts.
When I was head of hiring at my Wall Street law firm, we were informed that Harvard University would…Continue
Angel with the Green Dress On
Having been evicted from the usual Sunday morning TV fare, I was faced with listening to Pope Francis address, with a distressingly familiar text, a lot of hot people in Havana Cuba’s Revolutionary Square.
I was grateful for the opportunity to be reminded just how morbid and depressing the Catholic message is. Within seconds, there was talk of sin, the necessity for forgiveness, the suppression of self in the service of the…Continue
Right Target, Wrong Arrow
Donald Trump has said things during his campaign for the Republican nomination for President of the United States that in my view clearly disqualify him for the office he is seeking.
His response, or lack thereof, to the deranged questioner who raised the subject of Muslims in America is not one of them.
The media and political response to the event is nothing short of shameful. The media in particular is culpable in headlining…Continue
Art of the Possible
As the “silly season” of U.S. politics shows every sign of crescendo-ing , perhaps it’s time to exercise a bit of common sense.
The wisdom tree of the U.S. public, which often rises almost mystically from the unlikely roots of racists, rednecks, illiterates, and ivory tower intellectuals, can be counted upon to bear sweet fruit in the coming months if properly nourished with the following fertilizer/facts:
Obama is over. Knowing in his…Continue
This mini-post caused such a stir on Facebook, I thought I'd share it here.
Sometimes the application of reason/common sense makes the resolution of "difficult" problems so simple.
A clerk is hired to issue…
If, God forbid, the Iranian Nuclear Deal is approved by the U.S., it will represent Obama’s most tarnished accomplishment in what has been a truly disastrous administration.
34 votes, is it? In a legislative body numbering in the hundreds, is it possible that convincing 34 cowards to go along ensures Obama’s “legacy”?
A major misstep was not characterizing this creature as a treaty, which it clearly is. That would have required Senatorial confirmation, which would have never…Continue
