The Nazi Next-Door

The nazi next-door (words i never thought i would type) had all of his doors & windows open early this morning. I was outside gardening and I was able to catch bits & pieces of the loud conversation he was having with his wife. The words "our people" made me do something I rarely do; pay attention to the neighbors. I could only catch the most emphatically stated bits... words like "fucking mexicans" & "manipulative jews" and the one thing I heard and could agree with: "Our people… Continue

Trig & His Bots

I've seen a few mentions of Trig and the silly robot videos he used to make. He & I spent countless hours together on the phone working on those videos, often giggling like schoolgirls.

Being the type of person who doesnt usually get rid of cyber things, I found a couple & will find more when I dig out my old laptop.

This one was particularly fun and as I recall, written exclusively by him.…

How To Add Images To A Blog Via Links

So, I want to add an image of a frog to my blog (blog frog!). What do I do?

Well, you have several choices. You could go find a frog & take his picture, upload it to your computer and then add it by clicking the ' add image' link in the blog editor. …

Trig's Open Call - What Is On My Bookshelf

I have bookshelves in nearly every room of my house including the kitchen & one of 2 bathrooms. I have bookshelves in my sun room, my hallway & even one in my shed. Lets just say I have a lot of bookshelves.

I have so many bookshelves (my grandma always called them "bookcases") because when he & I combined households we each brought multiple bookshelves full of books and multiple children who also had multiple bookshelves full of books. The kids moved out, but their books…

Lazarus (For D)

Since I have been somewhat vocal on the subject of poetry lately, I felt it was time to put up or shut up.  This is a poem I have been working on for a really long time.  I have added punctuation, removed punctuation... moved line breaks around & tweaked word choices, all in an attempt to give it the same melancholy cadence it has in my head.  I cannot seem to let it go... yet.

Lazarus (For…

for sirenita (my words are broken)

i try to write
but my words are tin
wood, bone and wax
milagros
for my own broken heart
over and over i try
crumpling and casting off each effort
till there is nothing left but tears
and a wastebasket full of good-bye

Journaling & Blackout Poetry(?)

Like many people who  love writing, I journal.  I try to journal every day, but rarely succeed; I do manage about 4-5 times a week. I journal in outdated planner notebooks and have tons of them full of... well, nonsense mainly. Journals for me are the written version of the bottom of my purse; the place where all my mind debris & miscellany ends up.

Yesterday I started a new journal in a blank planner book from 2008. Its got large pages and suits me fine. I've also been…

Family Madness

This is my sister.  She is a very good person.

When our parents home was flooded as a result of hurricane Sandy she (of course) moved them into her home.  She helped them navigate through all the insurance and FEMA programs, and generally tried to make their lives easier after the disaster.  Knowing her, I'm…

Art Walk Without Much Art

We have an Art event in my city called Art Walk on the first Thursday of every month, so I decided to take you all with me via video to see the art.  It was later in the evening by the time we got there, so a lot of this is dark... and once i saw all the holiday lights etc still up (ya know... sparkly distractions) I mostly filmed that and forgot about the art till the very end.

This is a really long video... you might wanna pack a…

Video Leftovers

I posted the Take Me For A Ride In The Car Car  video yesterday and only posted the first 9 or so min of the total amount filmed...  i thought 9 min was excessively long already,  so i saved the rest for when i become madly famous (emphasis on mad) and will need an "outtakes" reel.

then i realized one of the later clips i did not use was the one that included my happy birthday mention to Trig... so here is some more silliness for you Trig ( you can skip to the happy birthday mention…

A Good Idea Gone Horribly Wrong... But Still A Good Idea

So, Trig was giving me grief to post pictures of this place i had recently driven through here in California.  Generally this particular area of my neck of the woods is pretty brown because.. well we do not get lots of rain. In addition there had been a pretty large fire in the area. Anyhoo... it came back lush and beautiful green after some recent rain.

I set out to take pictures and ended up with video.. but not of the area I was talking about & mostly silliness on my…

"The reaction isn’t yours; it belongs to them. The art is yours"
