I don’t know what the definition of insanity is. One common definition is of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. But if this is insane, then insanity is far more common than we pretend.
For example, I vote in Dover NJ, a town dominated by a cabal of insiders. A few Republican have run, and one even became the mayor, but as soon as he won, the aldermen (all Democrats) stonewalled him on everything. His administration failed and no Republican…Continue

The fundamental way a ruler takes power is in the manner in which he portrays himself.
In order to create a beloved leader whom the masses can be charismatically seduced by as their freedoms evaporate under unfair and ideological rule, a cult of…
Everyone wants to go to war. Just listen to all the Republican presidential wannabees.
Republicans are giddy with the hope that they can use Obama’s foreign policy to convince American voters that the next president ought to be a Republican. And given the terrible circumstances abroad, it is easy to criticize Obama’s policy. So yes, it would have been better had Putin not invaded the Crimea and eastern Ukraine. (Note: Legislation on the books in Indiana and elsewhere that would allow business owners to discriminate against gays, opened many people's eyes to the lengths the Religious Right will go to re-establish the American Republic as a Christian Republic governed more by their faith-based Bible than the secular Constitution. But Americans got the first whiff of theocracy years earlier when conservative Catholic bishops resurrected a controversy long thought dead as…Continue
Ever since the last primary that saw a disastrous outcome for the Democratic Party with Republicans establishing a majority in the House as well as the Senate, the joy has become short lived. Two of the main figures in the GOP establishment have proven to be major road blocks in the policies that…
