Normay, cagey recipients of our sick advanced american game technology in the form of 52 "F-52 and F-35" fighter jets recently delivered via high end playstations and whatnots, today continued their world domination by kicking total international men's ass in the cross country skiathlon event - Simen Hegstad Krueger won gold in the most homeric fashion, falling initially, banging his head, having to change his poles, losing over 40 seconds,…

Thoughts on My Birthday

It's My Birthday

I've painted myself in the corner of life

I couldn't have done better had I used a knife

It's my birthday Oh yeah it's my birthday,

I have a perpetual…

#MeToo, Flat-Footed Plot Devices, Maul Woody Allen

For years I have avoided his films, not out of any moral sensibility but as an aesthetic response to his increasing reliance on flat-footed, gratuitous deus ex machina plot devices (as in Blue Jasmin, and, earlier, in Match Point). Those devices speak to a serious diminution (if not a lazy surrender) of talent. The director's at-best questionable personal relationships trouble, but in a strange way, not as poignantly as I was…

Weaponizing Futuristic Science

New Scientific Developments with Ominous Applications

There always has been an odd relationship between human civilization, it’s need for advancement, and the amount of that innovativeness that ends up being utilized for foreboding purposes. Science fiction has…

Robots Friend of Foe?

The robot is probably one of the most thought provoking concepts ever evoked by mankind, yet today there are concerns over robotics as having an effect upon the workforce as the fears of automation costing jobs while other more insidious considerations are being presented. Ever since…

music for the cold cold hours

when I'm in the studio I like to listen  they play music I haven't heard in years like sammy davis jr who lately blows me away like crazy, plus music I've never heard before - like this one (below) by Paolo Conte.

As an aside, there's a cut they play sometimes of "Take Me to the River" not exactly the al green version - the singer is white - you know the type of stylist, she uses an anemic…

What Did I Miss?

The National College Football Championship ended up being between two SEC teams; Georgia and Alabama.  Living in Georgia made me aware of that fact, and having no affiliation with either team, I literally had no "dog" in that fight.  I was gripped by a mixture of anger and nausea as I watched the pretender to the Presidency walk onto the field, flanked by marines, but I endured.

So, watching two evenly matched, undeniably talented, teams should have been exciting, but I turned the T.V.…

Steve Heart Donald

The beginning of FIRE AND FURY by Michael Wolff specifically focuses on Bannon.  There are anecdotes about the idiot but the real picture is of Bannon the Believer and the idiot king as his vehicle to create the ultra right dream state.

But like anyone in mad love - and make no bones about it - Bannon was mad for Trump - he KNEW what he had which is a man with no allegiances, no philosophy, no vision but a great gift.  Trump is an idiot savant when it comes to marketing…
