French Election Bears Little Comparison to America: Actual People Elect Their President

There’s continuing mythology that, in light of Brexit and America’s election, the world will soon be dominated by the political right-wing.

Fear was stoked in France on Sunday due to the burgeoning strength of National Front candidate Marine Le Pen, runner-up in a large presidential field, only narrowly behind centrist Emmanuel Macron (En…

As Folks Might Say in Texas, Coulter is All Hat and No Cattle

After taking her side with my last post: Mario Savio Spins in His Grave as Berkeley Cancels Ann Coulter's Speech, I'm wondering if Coulter and The Berkeley College Republicans were just trying to pull off a publicity stunt and now resort to a bit of Texas Side Step as…

The Beast "45" Attacks ISIS with a Big Bang at a Cost of $450K per...

War is a business of accounting: “blood and treasure” calculations underpin warfare in terms of hard cash damage to economies and societies.

At a minimum cost of $16 million each the MOAB bomb used in the latest attack on ISIS in Afghanistan yielded 36 dead at a cost of over $450,000 per body bag. …

united david dao excessive force situation + the US police state

hi all, it was not a pretty picture (to say the least, honestly, it was outrageous) with bloody david dao dragged off an airplane in full view of social media. he is said to have concussion, lost teeth, and needed surgery. united refunded all passengers. the airline released a statement about "reaccommodating" the passengers. it looks like our entire country got "reaccommodated" the last decade or so esp after 911. and isnt it "fortunate" for us all some passengers were around to film the…

And so now we know - or perhaps we always did - that this is just the tip of the iceberg.  The NYTimes (the "failing" NYTimes as Trump likes to say) along with the Huffington Post is reporting on Big Bill's many payouts, or rather Fox's many payouts, to various women who have sued him for harassment in one form or another, though usually "sexual." With regard to this I did Facebook Message O'Reilly and asked him just what part/aspect of him he thinks women find attractive?  It's a mystery to…

Larry Is Dead …… What I Know

Larry was 49 when he died January 13 while in Costa Rica.

I only found out after the memorial service.  Because he had been a great swimmer, my first thought was that Larry might have drowned while on vacation.

I had not heard from Larry since he left NY Life to work for AIG-US Life - just before the financial…
