Fake President is a Moron. Surprised?

Fake President is a Moron. Surprised?

I’ve always hoped this country could try out a triumvirate: Mattis, Tillerson, Kelly.

This troika is working. They are competent men, 'led' by an incompetent man who has no bearing except as his first, or fourth lady complements his baseness.

THE RED FLAG ON DONALD TRUMP--SHELDON ADELSON—LAS VEGAS & ENDOGENOUS HATRED

A prophet I shall raise up for them from the midst of their brothers, like you; and I shall indeed put my words in his mouth, and he will certainly speak to them all that I shall command him.  And it must occur that…

Second Wave Feminists Need To STFU!

I admit it, as a Third Wave Feminist, I DO. NOT. LIKE. most 2nd-Wavers!

Before I go on, let me define the different waves of feminism, as I see them:

Fist Wave Feminists:  These were the suffragettes.  I hold them in great esteem because they rebelled against the perceived male idea that women were simply property;  because they fought…

The Presidential Optics from Kennedy to Trump

Being of sound mind and temperament, qualified , certified,  properly credentialed, exeperienced, and competent are no longer sufficient as factors for determining who should be elected the highest office in the land.

Hillary Clinton lost the election to Donald Trump because she isn't as entertaining  as he is. She didn't put on a good enough show.

They said the same thing when Adlai E. Stevenson lost to Dwight D Eisenhower in 1952.

It started with the advent of…

Paddock Girlfriend Says He Was Quiet Man

Paddock Girlfriend Says He Was Quiet Man:  The girlfriend of the Las Vegas shooter says that she knew Stephen Paddock as a kind, caring, quiet man.  Ever notice how often people describe mass murderers as “a quiet man?”  So folks, next time your noisy neighbor gets a bit loud, don’t complain.  At least you know he’s not gonna kill anyone. …

A Gathering at Ecola Creek

Even with college and home studio classes in full swing and the band working almost every weekend lately, I've been squeezing in time to paint almost every day. It really feels good to go away from the world and into the one of my own making.

This one is another Cannon Beach painting. Ecola Creek (in the foreground) begins many miles inland, and ends with a narrow stream at the Pacific Ocean in Cannon Beach, Oregon. A little ways South past this point, it levels off completely…

Surely Some Revelation is at Hand

In 1919 William Butler Yeats published one of the most beautifully disturbing and one of the most anthologized poems in my ken.  The opening lines of “The Second Coming” seem prophetic in their aptness for today.:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

   …

Rasslin' the Rascally Beasties Painting DAY TWO

So YEAH!

Tillerson called the idiot a moron and my spirits are up!

why that is, I cannot say because next at bat would be nikky hailey and she is loving the trumpian stepping stone to gale carnegie type diplomatic success and making a name for herself. so far, she's the yes girl.

anyway, still don't have on the news so I got into the studio early which is good because the coffee is still surging through my veins and the energy is high.  this painting feels right in…

Hello Old Friend!

Yours is the first face I saw after a pivotal, brutal day. Handful of senators my white ass I’ve always said.  I appreciate all your glorious words since, well, down through the ages. You should know if I still have your Flannery Conner’s book (the story where she rambled down highway 41 selling shower rings with the fat uncle?) well slap me left and right!

Why? I'll Tell You

During one of last night's MSNBC chat shows, one of the pundits (failing memory says Chris Matthews) said something like:

When they wrote the Second Amendment, they were talking about muskets!!

Which is true. Here's the text

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

In historical context, of course, a Militia in 1791 was the…

Spider's Web

The Supremes are reviewing the anti-gerrymandering case, and the thought crossed my mind that someone, particularly of the Democratic vein, should have done some research. Recall the thesis presented here, and subsequently repeated by some of the mainstream pundits (without crediting your humble servant, of course), that there aren't Red states and Blue states. There are Blue cities and Red shitkicker empty counties.

Given gerrymandering, Rightwing success in minority rule, and the…

LED to the Light

Lately I’ve been wrestling with what to do about an eight foot long fluorescent light in my studio that doesn’t’ work now due to a bad ballast.  There has been a revolution in lighting over the last couple of decades, and while not puzzled about its purpose, I’ve been largely left behind.

I first realized that I wasn’t in Kansas anymore when the Georgia legislature passed a law that basically overturned a Federal mandate.  The law would allow companies to continue to manufacture and…
