The Problem With Peace

                              The competition is killing us.

I’ve long argued that there is no profit in peace. You can’t give it away. I’ve tried hard to figure a way to work the peace business profitably, but I’ve had no luck. Strength through peace is a tough sale. I’m not born yesterday...I’m aware of the issues. For one, peace does not scale up.

Fighting for market share is not peace. Nature is not peaceful. It’s dog eat dog out here. Strength through…

New Revelations Obama Implicated in Spying on Trump

The rats are scurrying now that the sinking ship of the Democrats false allegations are being revealed! While James Comey is now being quoted as having been ordered by Loretta Lynch to handle his investigation into the illegal activities of Hillary Clinton as a matter rather…

Trump Directs Attorney General Barr to Look Into Locking Up Democrats

Trump Directs Attorney General Barr to Look Into Locking Up Democrats:  During a recent and rather bazaar rally in Pennsylvania, President Trump expressed anger at Fox News for inviting too many Democrats on their channel, joked about remaining in office for five full terms and…

Some commencement addresses are more interesting than others

If you’re conscious of racial inequality in America at all, you know that a major disadvantage faced by young Black people is that on average their parents aren’t in nearly as good a financial position as the parents of their White peers. When they start out at young adults, Black kids are less likely to get parental help buying their first house because their parents are less likely to be able to afford to help them than White parents are. The same goes for college tuition…

UN-PUBLISHED!

UNPUBLISHED!

What??? Is that even a thing?

It is, as I discovered last Monday when I went to the book page for Never Speak on Amazon. I do it at least once a day to check my sales rank—a shameful practice which I try to justify by knowing that I’m far from alone.

When I looked on Monday the Kindle version of my book was gone. Had I violated one of Amazon’s unwritten rules, and they’d killed my book? A flurry of emails revealed the…

The Pace Quickens

Im not in favor of faster, but there it is. I’m off routine and into the Red Rocket to see how the kids running my show are running my show three hundred miles from here. They call the shots, and I do as I’m told...mostly.

The new thing is not mine to manage, or critique. I’m an outside dog going to the vets, like. I’m not ultra urban, or even driving electric, into their version of tomorrow land. I pretend to understand, but don’t.

                       …

Overwhelmed In the House of Simon

We'd become a lucky people. I am compelled to tell you of the clarity, the vantage of the eagle, and the perspective of the dead. I'd gone as electric as I might that first day on the Great River. Perhaps selfishly, the subdued stage two engine had gotten me safely to the current, allowing me to steer silently. Moments ago two topless babes, in a well varnished-glossy, Chriscraft, cheerfully circled me. The girls were half…

Critics In Awe Over Pikey the Cat’s Acting Debate

Critics In Awe Over Pikey the Cat’s Acting Debate:  This is the only known pic of Pikey the Cat during his acting debut. Yea, this is pretty powerful stuff, which is why I had to post it. I showed this pic to a friend of mine and she was utterly speechless - couldn't say a…

Tariffs

The United States imports from most countries pretty freely. Not all, particularly in agriculture. What generally determines how much we import from any given country is how much Americans want to buy from that country. If those countries want to build factories in the United States, great.

However, that kind of importation and investment opportunity is not always a two-way street. Cooperation between industry and…

A Little Spanish Night Music

We were at the home of friends last night .  Rosa Icela is Mexican, born in Tijuana, and her husband is a Georgia boy who was stationed in San Diego where he met her.  She treated us and other guests, most of whom we knew, to a Mexican dinner.  It was sort of “Tex-Mex” with a decided improvement in flavors: tacos and pico de gallo. Dessert was something I had never had: cheese with candied quince.  After dinner we sat out on their deck on the top of one of the mountains here enjoying the…

Now Now

                                 Demand creates supply

Chaos is cheaper than fascism, eventually.  What families, companies, survived the the last  Reich?  Was there a great shift in global command and control after  WWI  bled into WWII ?  Or are we watching this now,  as total information awareness allows us to free think a past previously spoon fed to us by our betters in large doses? Did the Reich emulate the victors as it rose from the ashes of WWI, with the blessing of…

ICAN, CANDY COLORED CLOWN, ICAN

At once the sunshower well on its way east, the wet greens of ensuant summer thought: y'am.

Barefoot K.D.Lang soulfully sang Hallelujah...

Badgerland blessed by soft breeze, Gulf of Mexico perfect winds danced the serene drops upon elicit final

astonished magnolia, a warm wash of peace.

The yearling nuzzled alert with monifique tranquility.

She saw me and kept her eye on hunger.

ICAN the acronym spoke the watch, wait, mine…

The Final Frontier

                             The Space Between Your Ears

I’ve be led into quagmires, forced into boxed canyons, and lost in mine for years. I could not resist  exploring inward, always; lost mostly, with stretches of clarity and peace, unforgotten.

1992 during a Southern Hemisphere May, the sun rose as the Dali Llama walked onto the stage of the amphitheater. It was that moment so far away from home that I heard that the place to save the…

More Notes To Self

Do is not a dear, darling, if Ray is not, a drop of golden sun.

First and foremost this is a song and dance act, in fact, divine comedy; Nature gets to pick the last laugh, and who laughs - last.

I’m just guessing as usual, no prophet...For sure. What these hills are alive with, is up to the beholder. I call them as I see them, I read them and weep. I believe I did some of my best work, ever, this week.
