Melania Undressed

Melania Undressed!

In one of the most desperate publicity grabs ever, pudgy fashion designer Sophie Theallet has penned an open letter on Twitter saying that she will not design clothes for our about-to-be First Lady.

Two questions instantly arise:

Who asked her to?

Who needs her to?

Tommy Hilfiger, a name much more well known than that of Ms. Theallet, has already indicated that he will have no part in the latter’s pathetic plea for a boycott. And the…

The amusement of the new presidency - Shabby Sheik - Sun on the Rocks

I did this after coming across the idea of an infographic, it has a bit more detail than the usual summary of an amusement, and it is visual, which is something I like. I like the way it came out, did this using Canva, it's software that you can use to create infographics, it is free to use, there are a few templates, and you can use the one that you like.

COMING in two or three…

Beavers Reintroduced to Britain After 400 Years

Beavers Reintroduced to Britain After 400 Years:  After being hunted to death during a beaver fur craze, a five-year reintroduction program has once again reestablished a healthy population of beavers in Scotland’s lochs and rivers.  All I can say is, it’s about dam time.…

Box of Rocks

I do not have the chops to parse political assertions and viewpoints like some can.

I stop in here at times to read what has been said by some. I've almost always been able to learn something. Sometimes I even check it out elsewhere, but mostly I approach it like I might approach breezing through a…

Day 2 into 3 of B.S.

Yesterday went so well, a day to catch up on rest and I got through a lot on the back of the sweater I started making two years ago. I will wear it before this winter is over if I keep on at this rate. I did realize that I didn't have enough variety of foodstuffs to get through until Monday, though, so I got up and showered this morning and went to Walmart around noon. …

President Declares National Day of Leftovers

WASHINGTON, D.C.  Following his final Thanksgiving Dinner in the White House, President Barack Obama issued an executive order declaring today a National Day of Leftovers, including a dish prepared by his mother-in-law that he pushed around on his plate yesterday but did not finish.

“It was good, I was just . . . full.”

“Our enemies abroad deserve to eat this stuff,” said Obama’s prepared text.  “We are going to wrap it up and send it to them…

Ready For Winter

We have already had our first real snow.  Not a major storm, but not flurries either.  A few years ago we had a big storm in late October that trapped the leaves on the ground before they could be raked up and collected.  We ended up completing our raking in March - but by then the leaves were a wet mass and instead of rakes, I needed a shovel.

This year I kept ahead of the leaves which is not easy because they fall at different times based upon the tree and the weather. In the…

UPS Driver Has Sex With Hooker in His Truck Who Posts Online

UPS Driver Has Sex With Hooker in His Truck Who Posts Online:  A UPS driver who decided to spend his lunch break having sex with a prostitute in the back of his delivery truck will probably regret his decision after the hooker took pics with her cellphone and posted them online.  The UPS driver claimed all he was doing was delivering his package.  Talk about the postman cometh.  And ladies, don’t forget to ask your carrier “what brown can do for…

Thanksgiving, Standing Rock, & a hope

My daughter is making Thanksgiving dinner today. Her homeschooled children helped create the menu and were up early helping. I can smell it from my bedroom. I've been on Facebook reading "Happy Thanksgiving" greetings from friends amidst posts about Standing Rock. My son-in-law will go there tomorrow. My nine-year old grandson told me that last night when I got home. "Hopefully he won't get arrested, but..." He shrugged and smiled his hope this will not be what I am afraid it will…

Thought For the Day - 24 November 2016 (it's a Turkey) [update]

Well, it is Thanksgiving (at least, in the USofA), so there should be something to be thankful for.  One would think so?  Here's some musings on The Donald's announced appointments.

Atty. General, Jeff Sessions:  will bring white supremacy to a head, by actually implementing voter suppression, as he did while Alabama AG.

HUD, Ben Carson:  will implement a voucher-only housing support program, which will enable slum lords across this great land to be even richer;…

Greeting Cards From the World's Grumpiest Poet

Around Thanksgiving my thoughts turn towards those less fortunate than myself. This year, I’ve decided to extend a hand to Giacomo Leopardi, known to his few friends as “Jock.”

Giacomo Leopardi

For centuries, Leopardi has been known as the world’s grumpiest poet. When Matthew Arnold published his collected poems in 1853 he intentionally omitted “Empedocles on Etna,” which is now recognized as one of his top ten poems in both the AP and Coaches…

Jill Stein

Now I can understand re-count demands initiated by the desperately but marginally defeated. But Jill Stein? The lunatic candidate that explored and expanded the outer limits of the deeper depths of public support?

We've all heard about the Crazy Uncle who disrupts family gatherings. It's a comfort to know that he's brought his "wife" along with him.

House Negros Never Get Taken Seriously

In my post regarding the appointment of Jeff Sessions of Alabama to become Attorney General, I raised the following question:

"I'm waiting to see who he installs as the  'house negro''. The so-called black person who will tell Trump that everything  is  OK with the black community."

Apparently, we're about to get the answer:

Ben Carson doesn't think he's qualified to run a federal agency. Trump floats him to lead HUD anyway.
