People who criticize but contribute nothing!

Then there are people like Safe Bet's Amy, whoever she is.  A volatile big mouth.  She loves to criticize everyone, but she contributes nothing to Our Salon.   I guess we have to tolerate people like her.  After all it's a free country, or something like that.  However if we had only people like her, it wouldn't be free much longer.  Oh yeah, that's right.  She will help elect someone just like herself, Donald Trump.

God, I just had an epiphany.  Safe Bet's Amy is actually Donald…

The Bra Whisperer

A Boston-area woman has earned the nickname “The Bra Whisperer” for her skill at properly fitting women with the undergarments.

How Rigged Was It?

Nina Turner was going to second the nomination of Bernie Sanders at the Convention but she was barred from the stage.  Susan Sarandon and other celebrities stormed the media tent protesting this action.  No one really knows why Nina wasnt allowed to speak as she hadnt submitted any written plan that…

On the Matter of the Disappearance of Art James

This post is also a comment on Phyllis ' post: "Art is gone, again ".

I seriously doubt that any of the Art apologists here would be comfortable with, or tolerate, an individual who showed up on their doorstep and mumbled incoherently as visitors and guests came and went from their home.

I doubt that they would tolerate being followed from place to place, as they moved about during the course of an ordinary day, by an individual who was given to mutterings…

DNC Night Three: President Obama Channels "The American President"

My impressions of the third night of the DNC are simple.  Uncle Joe Biden did his standard stump speech and devolved into "Animal House".

Bloomfield, playing it straight, said Donald Trump would run the country like his business "God help us!  This is not reality TV.  This is…

Coyotes Refuse to Leave Brentwood Family’s Pool

Coyotes Refuse to Leave Brentwood Family’s Pool:  A Brentwood, California man finally had to call LA County Animal Services after three coyotes were found lounging around the family pool for several days straight, ignoring any effort to get them to leave.  Come on folks, we’ve all been warned about not feeding wild animals - so if you’re serving coyotes Patron Cadillac Margaritas by the pool, just what do you expect?  …

Entire books could be written on the history of bathing. Shower head history however, is quite breif.

Many would be surprised to learn that today's shower heads is not all the different in looks or design from the ones used by our…

Time to Chime in. It's been awhile.

I haven't posted for quite some time.  Not because I haven't thought about it, but because when I do.  I get too many negative comments.  I'm one of those people, who takes everyone else's thoughts too seriously.  Even though I know for the most part, all of us here on OS are preaching to the choir.

So here goes.  I am sick of arguing with my "friends" and relatives on Facebook.  I have Afib, and during election years, I'm not in good shape.  Stress tends to bring it on. I wish…

Press Conferences v. Scripted Recitations

Press Conferences v. Scripted Recitations

Donald Trump gives press conferences all the time and answers dozens of questions in rapid-fire succession; Hillary’s pressers have occurred so long ago that the memory of man almost runneth not, and, when they do occur, they feature questions as scarce as hens’ teeth.

This is no accident. Press conferences require courage, not…

A Hack-To-Believe-In

There have to be, as you read this, a raft of seasoned investigative reporters doing their best to sort out what kinds of, the range and depth of, Donald Trump's and Paul Manafort's relationships with Russian government and corporate leaders and entities. When asked about his ties in and to Russia in the wake of the recent hacking of Democratic Party servers, Mr Trump, according to the NYT, after saying that…

hi all. this (911) is an exhausting topic, but politics is not for the faint of heart. (or maybe it is mainly for "feints of heart").

its a freakin miracle. hallelujah, so to speak. the 28 pages have been released.

but the public seems to be mostly comatose on it.

look, despite what they teach in civics class, our government requires constant pushing and prodding to do the right thing. to say the least. and even then it may avoid it.

where is the mass…

Rules?! We Don't Need No Stinkin Rules

These endeavors have been 99.44% about those events and topics which are interesting to those of us who indulge in relational database and quant activities. Unlike many such blatherings, they are not about demonstrating technique which is readily available to read in texts, both dead trees and on the innterTubes. The macro concerns, in a nutshell.

One of those concerns, which pops up Whack-a-Mole style where one might not expect, is…

I love this photo.  The green inside the nest is super soft fuzz and it would have made such a nice birth place for a little bird but it was destroyed and on the ground with a half egg shell near by.  Made me sad to think that life is so brutal to take a little…

DNC Day Two: Sexism and Racism on Parade

DNC Day Two

Although the chaotic divisiveness of Day One of the 2016 DNC would be hard to beat, the Dems managed to present to the country an even more vivid image of callous partisanship and evasion on Day Two.

The cheated Bernie supporters resorted to flag burning, the U.S. flag of course, outside the venue, while…
